ecobee4 Smart Thermostat with Built-In Alexa, Room Sensor Included

    • The smartest thing it does is sense when you're home or away outside of your normal schedule and adjust accordingly-Home IQ reports are buggy and of marginal value
    • The unit has been in operation a little over a week now, and I have nothing but good things to say.
    • It is simple to use, but also capable of doing some great things with integrations to IFTTT and the Alexa world.
    • Seriously though this thing is great.
    • For $250 I was expecting this thing to keep my house reliably comfortable
    • It’s the most frustrating thing in the world
    • The only negative thing I can think of is my attempt to get customer service help, but then didn't need it after all
    • Customer support is amazing! We were fortunate to be early ecobee4 users and have nothing be great things to say about this product
    • Some important things are buried deep in poorly labeled sub menus and it needs to be overhauled
    • The only thing that I am unsure of is how well the Ecobee will actually work this winter.
    • Given the potential complexity of wiring a thermostat without a common (C) feed, this thing is amazing.
    • I had a conference call and damn thing started speaking.
    • I don't want to be the guinea pig who has this "smart" thermostat doing dumb things on my wall all the time.
    • This thing is awesome and I will never be without one again.
    • Finding the right app to get the service to do simple things like estimate commute time was a trial and error process
    • The only bad thing is
    • Can't control other smart things
    • Better than the nest I use to have and work flawless with Alexa and smart things.
    • I love this thing
    • From customizable schedules to automatic setback and sensor take over, this thing is amazing and Alexa is like adding frosting to the cake
    • This thing is great
    • So I decided to indulge in the ecobee world I had heard so many good things about
    • I love this thing!
    • I absolutely love this thing.
    • Its probably a good thing I didn't get more room
    • Ecobee and Amazon shouldn't sell things they know don't work as advertised
    • I cannot say enough good things about this product.
    • As a thermostat this thing is great, but the Alexa voice recognition is horrible compared to an Echo.
    • Love this thing
    • Not the worst thing ever but...
    • It comes with no instruction as to how to use it and just an expensive question/answer thing.
    • This is a really easy to use Thermostat that can do some pretty cool things.
    • Lastly and the most frustrating thing was when I can home early from work today to find that the house was still 71 and the boiler was still running when the unit was set to 64!
    • Alexa knew that the thermostat was the device it was actually in and trying to get the stupid thing to just turn on the AC.
    • Two things I don't really like: If you manually set the temperature, it sticks to that until you cancel it
    • I love this thing, but I had to turn off Alexa because sometimes she would start responding out of nowhere when I was watching TV
    • There are so many positive things I could say about the Ecobee4
    • I can only assume all the glowing reviews by the big tech review websites are being paid for them, because although this device does do some handy things, it totally falls down on most of the so-called "smart" features that are advertised:"SMART" Recovery: This feature is an utter joke
    • One major GOOD thing is the fact that it works well with HomeKit
    • Nest was simple and intuitive and just worked--this thing has been a nightmare from day one
    • I think Alex's ability to understand language and the very few different ways of saying the same thing makes it difficult to use with one's voice
    • The one thing that I think is an issue with these thermostats is the lack of a rechargeable battery backup or ability to put batteries into the thermostat.
    • this thing is frustrating.
    • This thing is literally a waste of time and money
    • Ecobee almost got it right here, but where they missed makes the whole thing a miserable failure
    • As an added bonus the sensors all are seen by Perceptive Automation's Indigo home automation software and it makes it very easy to do things like only turn off lights at night if no one is in the room.
    • I had all these smart home things installed and don’t know if they need batteries
    • I love this thing easy set up and it is working great
    • Love this thing.
    • The best thing about it for us is being able to set up detailed day-by-day schedules.
    • Well here’s the thing
    • I love the thing.
    • This thing is great
    • Some random odd things
    • This product really goes hand to hand with Samsung smart things
    • The odd thing is that for Alexa being the big new feature for the Ecobee4, you can't talk to the thermostat out of the box to adjust the temperature -- instead you need to download the Alexa app on your phone, pair it to your Ecobee4, enable the Ecobee skill in the Alexa app, then run a device discovery in the Alexa app to find your Ecobee4.
    • Being one that has had internet enabled t-stats in my home forever (proliphix was the first one I ever had) and with the fact I am one for trying to get ahead of the curve on the Alexa/smart home thing I had to give this a whirl.
    • One thing I'll say about Alexa is that it impressed me that it could hear me from all the way down the hall from either the kitchen or living room
    • But I think the best thing I could say about the ecobee4 is that it just is exactly what I wished it would be
    • The worst thing so far is that the EcoBee4 seems to lock up and not follow my set schedule.
    • Plus the Ecobee is sleek and sophisticated looking while doing lots of cool things - acting as a speaker via Alexa is a very neat feature
    • Normally the hardest thing is to make sure it is completely
    • These things are nothing more then a frustration
    • The nice thing about the Nest is it has a battery negating the necessity of a C wire thus making it a much more versatile choice for a smart Thermostat.
    • Love this thing.
    • I can't say enough good things about this
    • It's just such a weird thing to leave out
    • The especially nice thing about this is ,previous products required the purchase of a complex box sometimes including separate power cable ,that was needed to be able to hook up.
    • Besides the microphone the fact is you can’t really use all the features of Alexa your really limited on the Amazon only music, various other things are not available on this device.
    • This thing was a breeze to put in and works very well
    • but I love this thing.
    • This thing works great and is very customizable for a home that can take advantage of the extra sensors
    • Pairing up the remote sensor was the easiest thing I've done in years.
    • I can't wait to rip this thing out.
    • While I've only owned the thermostat for a week, I cant say enough good things about it
    • Compared to the Nest, this thing is harder to install if you don’t have a C wire, but has a few more features
    • but it works 100% of the time for me with Siri, but most of the time Alexa won’t/can’t acknowledge that I even have an ecobee device connected let alone control it
    • n’t have any connections issues with any device
    • n’t lean to one side
    • Please keep in mind that the product is great out of the package, and I actually like the features better than other smart t-stats I’ve seen
