This game met and exceeded my expectations for the game, providing a rich and excellent story as well as a well defined and beautiful world with rich backstory

excellent mechanics open-ended story that Fable seems to lack, and epic final boss (That doesn't end the game) makes this a must for any RPGer

It's basically the same thing with a whole lot of improvements - New story, hand crafted environment, better leveling system, and incredible graphics and gameplay.

While the main story itself was good - the later implementation of the main storyline was a bit of a letdown.

The story is melodramatic over the top fantasy.

But the story is great, it's a truly open ended and consistent world, beautifully rendered and truly atmospheric so it more than compensates

The story on the other hand was a bit weak, end of main story was lame, Imperials and Stormcloaks unlikable and whiners, not enough of variety with voice actors, buggy game, and would have liked the choice to become Emperor

I found the story dull beyond comprehension, the plot is straight out of a dime a dozen epic-fantasy novel, the story and most of the characters are uninspired, unoriginal, run-of-the-mill and seen-it-all-before, or so steeped in lore that people who don't know the previous story (or have simply forgotten it over the years this franchise has been around) will not benefit from

Awesome graphics, great story line, versatile...and so on...the only thing that really bugs me about this game is the number of glitches.

I really enjoy the tons and tons of content even though this game is a hack and slash dungeon crawl, it offers cool story and lots of options (especially with mods).

This isn't like any of the Elder Scrolls before this; it's beautiful and has an excellent story line

Through all these minor flaws, I was kept entertained visiting all the numerous locations on the Skyrim map and the beautifully rendered in-game landscape, which came complete with rain, snow, storms, mist, fog and many more realistic features that make you want to stay on in Skyrim, and play the game forever and ever!Highly, highly recommended to all FPS/3rd person-role-playing gamers out there, who enjoy role-playing, magic, dragons and a good story!

It lacks an epic scale story with passion, with world shaking moral decisions for the player to contemplate and earth shaking results based on what the player does or fails to do to match the technical scope

BTW, this was the first major Elder Scrolls game that I have embraced so I am looking to go back to Oblivion to see if the same storyline will sink its fangs into me now that I'm more interested in the races and stories of the past which has led up to this point

There's a nice big world to explore, and to some degree I feel like the developers really tried to expand from the quest grinding of "retrieve X, or kill Y"
