Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - PC

    • Funny thing is the start of the game tells you to join a particular side, and if you do, the rest of the game is glitched.
    • I actually am not a big reader and don't bother reading the lore in these games, but I found many funny and interesting things to read, anyway
    • Yeah, sure there is the basic power/wealth/I just like killing things, but that can’t apply to everyone
    • If you bought this not knowing that then try doing 5 minutes of research on future purchases, we live in a era of Steam DRM and that is a good thing as it's much less draconian than what other studios are pushing
    • One last really neat thing is that you can complete the quests however you see fit.
    • DLC has been coming out to keep things fresh, so even if you take a break you can always come back for something new down the road
    • There are lots of good and bad things in the 'free' creation part of the game.
    • One more cool thing.
    • Only one bad thing
    • The funny thing though...you can REALLY cheat if you have a PC.
    • Using AA keeps things sharp and edge-less, but don't use FXAA with AA unless you like how it looks; distant vegetation can look better with FXAA too
    • Is that the only thing worth spending money on
    • The most positive thing I can say, is they made the graphics look really detailed and gave great depth to even small items, but I would prefer more color over trying to be so realistic
    • I can't say enough good things about Skyrim.
    • There have been drivers tailor-made for Skyrim from the manufacturers, so don't just let Windows detect your drivers, go directly to the company's site (NVidia, ATI, etc).)The most frustrating thing about Skyrim is not the graphics - it's the lack of making a difference
    • Gameplay is simply addicting and that is what makes the stability such a sad thing because it just frustrates you that you cant stay in the oasis for more time before the game crashes for no reason or the next patch ruins something else
    • Though I hated the bad things I had to do in order to enjoy more than 75% of the content
    • I would go on and say many great and countless things about the game, but the writing will go on for a long time
    • this game is literally one of the greatest things ever and is the best rpg of all time.
    • Lots of options! There's also a lot of great surprising things going on.
    • There some strange things about playing the game with a mouse and keyboard for instance the mouse buttons are backwards for casting
    • Simplest things like telling a non-player character to jump down a small ledge after you is not possible
    • enhances them, then takes the worst things from those games and throws them out completely
    • I will begin by saying the good things about it:1
    • I can freeze things and teleport and all kinds of things with
    • I miss some things in the past games, but I think Skyrim will have plenty appeal to long time fans and those just coming into the series.
    • I bought the disk; I should NOT have to wait hours for the stupid thing to download from the Steam site.
    • But the main thing that is done superbly, is the magic
    • The things I mentioned were just little irritations
    • You should use FXAA if Anti-Aliasing takes a big performance hit on you, it's an alternative to "AA" that uses less resources, but makes things blurry and less sharp to get rid of edges
    • They've also come up with some cool things for the modding community such as integration with Steam for mods and improved the creation kit, which is yet to be released(at the time I am writing this).
    • It has all the best things in a role-playing game.
    • Everyone is obsessed with death!”• Unhelpful Descriptions – do you like finding things on your own without being spoon-fed exactly where to go and what to do
    • If you like to wield magic, sneak around and steal things, fight with two-handed greatswords, or anything else, your skills in these areas will improve the more you use them
    • I loved the music in this game though, possibly the best thing about Skyrim
    • Simpler, but that's often not a bad thing.
    • It goes a tad faster than, say, the character creation in Fallout 3, which could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on how fast you wish to move
    • Agonizing over character creation is a thing of the past, you pick your race (each has their own bonus) and off you go
    • I liked constantly discovering new things, even after I'd played for close to 500 hours
    • I think the most impressive thing is how detailed every location is, and how well-written many of the quests are.
    • Early in the game, one of my favorite things was simply to roam around from one place to the next of my own free will.
    • One other funny thing is that there is too much pick-able trash around in these dungeons
    • after you've just clicked it, people flat out doing ODD things or knowing stuff that they logically should not know (like knowing that you stole from them when there is nobody in the house and no guards...CSI??).
    • Funny thing is, you cannot kill them
    • I felt I really was accomplishing things and really moving about a real country
    • but oh well it will be out eventually, and the food making is there already), and so many other things i wont think to mention (leave some surprise for the player)
    • I can't say enough good things about this game and if you don't already own it, scroll back up and get it on your computer as fast as you can
    • Funny thing is, you cannot kill them
    • If you're into graphics, however, and that's your whole thing, this game will disappoint
    • Read on and I will tell you some of the good and bad, things I enjoyed and things that made me want to alt f4.Visuals:I would first like to start off with the graphics
    • but there are a few things worth mentioning here.
    • I played through it a few times and I am sure I missed some things that might be important, so i'm going to start over and play it again
    • a must have they have fixed a great many things that where wrong with the older games in this one which makes it that much better and its open world remember must kill all humans
    • Awesome graphics, great story line, versatile...and so on...the only thing that really bugs me about this game is the number of glitches.
    • The really cool thing I found about Skyrim is that you don't start out deciding if you want to be a mage, or a warrior, or whatever (like you had to do in Oblivion and its predecessors).
    • It goes a tad faster than, say, the character creation in Fallout 3, which could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on how fast you wish to move
    • There is so much to do, I havent quite decided if that is a good or bad thing yet
    • I had the latest patch and this thing still has more bugs than a $3 flop house
    • I didn't care for are gone and some great things have been added like the extensive smithing abilities.
    • The game meets your playstyle, you are not restricted in some cooridorish pre-configured method to resolve how you accomplish things
    • Important things that make RPGs seem
    • Simpler, but that's often not a bad thing.
    • Besides, learning a few things about technology can be a rewarding side-benefit for someone who is sinking hundreds or thousands of hours into Skyrim
    • You really expect things to get better with games, not worse.
    • beware!Few things that bug me about the game are minor, like how it feels counterproductive to ride a horse if you're an avid flower picker or have to stop to kill everything.
    • One good thing I do like about this is even though you don't have the ability to customise them, they can however wear/use the strongest pieces of armor and weapons you give
    • The usage of Steam is not a bad thing, most of the complaints here are just wrong, you do not have to be connected to Steam to play, you do not install from Steam, the only download required is the patch Bethesda issued on release day, which caused every buyer to update the game prior to playing, had there been no Steam that day most PC users would have had a game that was badly broken and would have been forced to search the net for a fix/patch
    • The primary questline for this guild is nine quests long, so you walk in, do a few good things, and are chosen for no apparent reason over someone with years of experience who actually lives at the College.• Bugs and Crashes
    • only thing i dont like is the separate crime bounties
    • Endless things to do, a lot of quests.4 dlc's pretty cheap.
    • The good thing about Skyrim is that it has been optimized to run on "lower end" systems as well (dual core).I am extremely happy with this game
    • Downloaded the things I needed and it wouldn't work I got to the play
    • Upon hearing you could steal things right from under someones nose by simply places a bucket on their head, incited me to try and do the same
    • Some things like smithing, alchemy, enchanting can supercharge your
    • The game is not boring; you can do many things like mine for ore, craft your own weapons and enchant them
    • The two things this game does not do well are stability for un-interrupted gameplay and telling you how the controls work
    • There are also some pretty cool things they added as you progress from your factions - for instance with the stronghold for the dark brotherhood you can get a torture chamber upgrade.
    • You will need STEAM online to play the game, but this is not a bad thing as STEAM allows for easy game updating and other online goodies
    • The important thing to remember is that Skyrim is a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game, and a great one at that
    • Another cool thing is that there are roughly 250 perks for all skill areas and you will only get a max of about 80 perk points to spend (after you get each skill to 100 - max level - you will be roughly level 81
    • I prefer strategy and FPS games, but I bought this as I had heard great things about Skyrim and gave it a shot since I had a gift card
    • The main mission has for the moment been neglected but only because I'm having so much fun doing all the other things
    • So that is a good thing for
    • Basic things - like look around, and move, and interact with the world.
    • One thing worth noting is that it takes A LOT of time to finish the game and there seems like there is an endless number of miscellaneous quests.
    • Thought I was doing a great thing to buy this game for my husband, but he has been unable to use it
    • I crash far more often, things run slower, I constantly have little pop-up boxes jumping in my face telling me that some idiot who was friended by one of my sons two years ago is online, even when I'm trying to do serious work, not playing games at all.
    • You have to wonder whether the testers who played the game really tested all the right things
    • First thing to point out are the bugs
    • I could go on to type up a 2000 word review listing all the good things - but it's been done by others
    • Yeah, sure there is the basic power/wealth/I just like killing things, but that can’t apply to everyone
    • The most important thing you can do for your game is check out the mods that are constantly being released
    • The only thing I would say against Skyrim is the number of dungeons the quests will take you through.
    • However the game itself for the pc only gets 3 starts because any game that is 60 dollars should not have this many things wrong with it, Elder Scrolls games are no exception.
    • This was just a cool little thing I discovered
    • Having wrestled with the hateful and swinish Steam thing and gotten the game loaded it was a joy.
    • I even needed council commands to get through a quest as part of the main story-line (good thing I'm using a PC).For PC, there are an endless amount of mods you can download, or make yourself
    • This is not necessarily a bad thing, since I enjoyed Oblivion and it was also an excellent game
    • Fighting can be a little tricky since your mouse moves the camera, though it's not impossible to kill things either
    • but it's not designed for that unless you want to miss out on all the great things about it.
    • But for a completest like myself this is a horrible thing
    • But as stated, there are many very pretty things to be gazed upon
    • They don't know how to handle progression, so in all their games you reach cap way to quickly and run out of meaningful things to do to keep progressing your character
    • It just slows things down needlessly.- The "favorites" is similar to the old "rose" system where you could mark items and spells for quick access.
    • One of the more frustrating things is the beginning of the game
    • The whole thing "feels" like a console game rather than a pc game
    • Yes, it has operating similarities to Oblivion, F3 and New Vegas, but since I can't map the keys the same, this is _not_ a good thing.
    • I expected DRAGON COMBAT to be the most exciting thrilling thing in the universe.
    • it doesnt matter what the skill is that you level just that you leveled it up once you have leveled enough skills you will get your character leveled and its a nice and simple thing you just activate the level up screen which on the keyboard is the / button and pick between magic health or stamina to
    • That said, things are not perfect with Skyrim
    • One of the best things is you can play it as little or as much as you would like and have a great time.
    • Steam is the best thing to have happened to PC gaming and the consolitis in Skyrim is very minor and will only last until the first UI mod is released.
    • Overall everything's been simplified compared to its predecessors, but that's not always a bad thing.
    • I have seen weird things happen, but it never stopped me from enjoying this game
    • On several missions, there are obscure things you need to do in order to proceed.
    • Everything I liked about Oblivion plus they improved the things I didn't plus the graphics are just sick
    • The two best things of this game are the majesty of the scenery, and the dept of the world
    • The only thing is that Steam crashes every once in a while, even though we are playing it on a very high-quality computer that is meant for this
    • the really horrible thing is this whole server idea.
    • I would like three things: kids that don’t look and sound like clones, the inclusion of elf and beast race children, and the ability to divorce and remarry
    • Perks get a 10/10 and armor/weapons get a 7/10.One last thing to mention, one-shot kills and death animations
    • Hearing some many great things about this game and its open world concept intrigued me.
    • It takes the best things about Morrowind and Oblivion
    • The annoying thing I, and the rest of the Skyrim PC community is suffering are the shadows
    • The next best thing is the PS3 version.
    • If you're not online the stupid thing will not install.
    • The great thing is, your character progresses based on what you do and how you play
    • This is not necessarily a bad thing, since I enjoyed Oblivion and it was also an excellent game
    • amazing!I still find myself hitting 'c' every now and then expecting a fireball, it seems to be the one Oblivion key I can't seem to shake
    • 2.8GHz8G RAM470 GTXAll I can say is WOW this game is beautiful
