    • Fantastic little converter device.
    • If it was the least expensive device of its kind, I could understand this lack of easy to access instruction and software, but it is one of the most expensive devises available.
    • It's, so far, the best USB video capture device I've used.
    • Great device, does just what you want it to!

    • This little device works perfectly, and has an easy and intuitive software interface that allows some basic trimming of the video capture

    • Without a doubt the easiest device to set up on my Mac for transferring VCR tapes to my video collection
    • Device works perfectly fine, I don't know why some of the people are having issues with it
    • Certainly, most customers will want the device to be as easy to operate as possible; however, some users will wish for more features where editing is concerned, and I'm taking off one star for that very reason
    • Now I'm left with the choice of returning this and buying a much, much more expensive device with an on-board processor that will handle the encoding, or buying a new computer so that I can use this device.
    • The device works as it is advertised but it isn't perfect
    • I used this device for about an hour and it worked.

    • How can Amazon not only sell a fake device but also list it as "Amazon's Choice"
    • This neat little device works as advertised
    • However, the first device that I got was getting a driver error and didn't work with my system which is a brand new HP high end laptop
    • If recording in real time via analog is okay with you, then this device will do the trick.

    • A great device to help and a heck of a lot cheaper than going to a store to get it done.
    • This is great as a device, but every time I try to use their convenient software to trim a video clip I've just recorded, the first couple of seconds of the audio are out of synch with the video
    • Super useful device
    • Arrived on time and works as expected, excellent device.

    • After messing around and wasting time with knock-off "EasyCap" devices and fiddly open source software, I got one of these ElGato thingees
    • The device is defective

    • This is a magical device that allows you simply and easily to transfer your old VHS Videos into digital format on your computer for further processing
    • The MP4 format is much better than the files from a cheaper device I was using and the quality seems indistinguishable from the tapes themselves
    • Do not know if it was the change to Windows 10 or the 8mm format, but the old device would only work for about 30 seconds and then freeze
    • The device works well

    • I read somewhere that people were having problems using this device on Windows 8, but has to be more than that because it wouldn't even send a device response to the PC Hardware
    • I have only used this device for saving NTSC video, and it works very well for that
    • This little device is the best you can get for your money
    • Other than that, this is a great device for digitizing those old VHS tapes.
    • Using cheaper capture devices, the sound was often delayed by a second or two, whenever the video ran longer than a few minutes, reminding me of the scene in Kung-Pow where even a dog's barking was delayed by a second.
    • This great little device will put them straight to your computer
    • Device reported as failed and has been turned off by Windows
    • There's a lot of confusing information out there, from FireWire to USB cables (most said it couldn't be done for video transfer), but what seemed promising was A/V to USB transfer
    • I have already transferred several vhs-c compact tapes that are at least 15 - 20 years old to my laptop.
