Ive started with elixir from my first guitar which was a takamini jasmine, a very cheap guitar but bulletproof, the strings definitely worked very good and lasted a long time.

As a person who plays very regularly (often as much as 2 -3 hours per day or more when I'm gigging), I do change my strings often and the sound of a fresh, traditional guitar string is just much more appealing.

I had to be dragged into trying these by the guy at a guitar store, I was always a dyed in the wool Phosphor Bronze acolyte, never looked back though, probably the best acoustic guitar strings I have used especially from a feel and durability standpoint

They also make my guitar look much nicer and shinier
