Elixir Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings w NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053)

    • The feel is actually similar to the .10 gauge's, there is a slight bit more tension but it doesn't bother me at all, they feel fine for bending/vibrato, and obviously chords and what not
    • if this is true bit it seemed to me that warmed up quiet a bit after playing them for a few days
    • The guitar I have is particularly deep and bassy in tone, and these strings brighten it up quite a bit
    • They are a bit expensive but with guitar strings it makes all the difference
    • A bit cheaper than Guitar Center.
    • I prefer medium tension, these are a bit on the high side
    • However, with these strings I found that it was both a bit more difficult to play
    • Note: I play on a seagull coastline spruce (shorter scale, thus lower string tension)Pros:-lasts a long time-smooth feel, a bit slicker than the exps, but not enough to affect play (I do have dry hands though, so coated strings seem to suit me better than people with sweaty hands)-nice and balanced without the overly bright and jangly tone that new strings tend to have (even compared to other coated strings like daddario exps)-all of the strings are coated-string noise is minimized-strumming/
    • The bottom sounds lacking and the stings seem a bit on the thick side
    • They really bring out the treble and sound a bit mushy/tinny to my ear.
    • I originally used and loved the polyweb strings, but my newer guitar really wanted something a bit brighter and livelier
    • Original brightness lasts longer than most, then after that dulls a bit these strings settle in for a (still very lively and somewhat bright) mid-life that is also usually 3 to 4 times as long as any other strings I've ever used.
    • A bit expensive, but the sound is exquisite and the strings last a lot longer than others.
    • Great strings, would love to see some improvement in the lasting of the strings, they play well for the first couple weeks but after that they loose a bit of their sound quality.
    • Sure, you might lose a tad bit of brightness with the coating, but to the practicing musician, that is offset by the extended life and lack of corrosion
    • Low e string kinda dull, overall, not quite as crisp as bronze 80/20
