This projector has replaced my old ViewSonic PRO7827HD that I still like, but the Epson model just has better color and sharpness to my eye.

Pros - Bright colors

I purchased some inexpensive dark colored see through curtains from a local store and put them up, then turned this thing on

Watching movies during the day is still bearable with this projector, but it's true potential really shows at night when all the lights are off, beautiful colors and very sharp picture

Yes, it looks amazing, the colors are rich, the contrast seems equal to our Sony flatscreen - which is amazing, the image is bright.

Even the $1,000+ systems had serious problems with brightness, color saturation and lack of definition due to the nature of non-HD content at the time

The noise level was a bit more than i'd like at dynamic color mode, but lowering display to natural mode helped so it is not noticeable

Again, I'm thinking using an actual projector screen and darker colored walls will improve the overall contrast significantly
