Epson Home Cinema 5040UB 3LCD Home Theater Projector with 4K Enhancement, HDR10, 100% Balanced Color and White Brightness, Ultra Wide DCI-P3 Color Gamut and UltraBlack Contrast

    • Epson has a winner here in the Home Cinema 5040UB
    • Contacted Epson, that process was very easy to their credit
    • I will definitely keep this projector, I will keep my rating in 4 starts because the new way to use the wireless emitter is really cumbersome, I don't understand why if Epson got it right for all previous wireless hdmi now with this high end monitor has to be different,
    • I returned the Epson 4000 because the poor black levels in dark scenes distracted me enough to pay more for the “ultra black” levels available in the Epson 5040
    • In all my research into 4k-capable projectors, the Epson 5040ub and the JVC DLA-RS400U stood out in the sub-$5000 range
    • Really disappointed and I would have liked Epson to send a newer model where the issues are fixed.....after all I have the extended warranty.
    • If you have a super dark viewing area and a giant screen, you may wish to look at Sony's native 4K projectors, but the Epson still meets or exceeds contrast ratio and black level depths at a price 1/2 to 1/3 of the Sonys
    • Epson offered no service support.
    • Well Epson wouldn't do that, at least not at first
    • Epson is garbage
    • If you are doing as I did and replacing the 5030UB (which I paid for btw) the only drawback is that the bulb for this one is different from the old one and costs around $299.00 to replace (bought my backup at B&H Camera - Genuine Epson part - which is sold by Epson now for $399.00
    • case you are wondering I upgraded from my still working great Epson
