I chose this scanner after reading a lot of reviews (both here and elsewhere) mainly due to it having a slight edge for slides and medium format negatives over its nearest competitor (for me), the Canon 9000F MKII.Both seem to have different issues as far as the software - for me, I chose this one due to the Canon's file-saving clunkiness that another reviewer described (if there is anything that slows production down for me, it's having to work around (or fight against) a non-intuitive, and possibly rigid, cataloguing

As compared to the old Epson, this seems to scan in more of a raw-like format.

When I moved from Windows XP to Windows 7 a few years ago, the scanner would no longer work as it was not compatible with the later operating systems and it was time to retire it anyhow.

The more you use this the more you'll wonder if the process can be improved as it's quite time consuming
