Epson Perfection V600 Color Photo, Image, Film, Negative & Document Scanner - Corded

    • For the price it has just about all you could want both for negative scanning and photos
    • (I clip one end to a hanger and clip a weight to the other end and leave it for a week or so.)I scan to jpg mostly, sometimes to tif if the photo is really incredible
    • Some of those scans are so clear, so detailed, that it's like seeing the photo for the first time
    • Of course it does take longer to scan each photo at the higher resolution and takes more space, but for the long haul, I want to save the best definition photos I can.
    • I'm attaching a sample image, an enlargement of the rings in the same image, a video showing how horribly flimsy is the film holder, and a photo of the film
    • The CD bundle also comes with ABBYY FineReader and Easy Photo Scan, all of which you are supposed to be able to download from their website, but they are outdated and are not compatible with my MacBook
    • The photos are extremely sharp and I have not had any issues with dust artifacts
    • Just perfect photo scanner
    • What really made me buy this scanner, was its ability to scan negative film, and turn them into usable photos
    • Like the photo restore feature
    • Did photos, negatives and slides all came out great
    • You do have to clean the photos well to get rid of the dust, but it is working
    • The photos are brighter, and have better resolution than with my other scanner
    • and I love how it works with slides, large format negatives and regular photos
    • I am ha Inge a little trouble doing multiple photos at once, as it sometimes puts two together as a single photo, but I'm still working out the kinks.
    • I bought this scanner after researching which piece of equipment would best allow me recover the photos from my negative films and obviously a bunch of my priceless memories
    • I'm not a skilled or educated photo editor, so do not have a finely tuned eye for minor technical differences in replication.
    • Really a good photo and memorabilia scanner
    • I have been using the Epson scan technology with my Mac OS and using the digital Ice to clean the photos up pre scan
    • Decent scanner for documents, but the photo negative scan function freezes constantly and requires multiple reboots and retries.
    • Also, the digital ice does some strange things to photos on occasion
    • The V600 Photo works well for any size of print from 8" x 11" or smaller, color or black and white
    • The software with it was able to make old photos appear better in the copies made
    • The quality is great with some photos (color) and not as well with others (black and white).
    • I really had fun sending old photos to my relatives
    • Great photo scanner for both reflective and film media that produces outstanding results.
    • Digital Ice available for both negatives/slides and photos (unlike v500 where only available for negatives/slides), but it's effectiveness varies
    • You can correct your photos and scan all in one step.
    • I recently dug up all the old picture albums and films in my house and wanted to make them digital so i could keep them all on a flash drive (incase the photos get damaged or destroyed)
    • The Epson Perfection Photo Scanner is a very good, fast photo scanner
    • Need to get them out of those old sticky photo albums.
    • I scan a second copy of good photos with no adjustments (looks awful but Photoshop is better for manual color adjustments, so I use PS on the un-adjusted scans for enlargements, etc
    • Produces good photo and slide images.
    • Whenever you hear about disasters affecting people's homes, the most heartbreaking part is when they lose all their irreplaceable family photos
    • I typically scan negs/slides at 2400 dpi, and will go up to 4800 depending on how much I like the photo
    • This is a wonderful photo scanner for the money! The only issue I had was the way it was packaged for delivery
    • My cell phones scanning captures as much detail and is as fast as snapping a photo, so if you have to scan 100 pages of something the cell phone beats the V600 using a simple snapshot technology, vs slowly scanning the document mechanically with a flat bed scanner.
    • Doing this I can usually clean up four scanned photos in the time it takes to scan 4 new slides.
    • On the multifunction unit scanners (we actually have two of those) the darker areas and even simply dark areas in otherwise better lit photos tend to produce bands or lines, vertical streaks which really take a lot of work in post processing in order to make the image presentable.
    • I've only one complaint and that is with the Epson Easy Photo Scan software that comes with the scanner
    • Fantastic photo and document scanner
    • After several months of research, I bought the Perfection V600 in February to digitize my family photo albums, which were literally crumbling from age
    • Whenever you hear about disasters affecting people's homes, the most heartbreaking part is when they lose all their irreplaceable family photos
    • Slides came out great and old 3X5 photos are automatically enlarged and can be cropped or photoshopped as soon as they show in your "Pictures" folder on your computer
    • The image almost always looks as good as the original photo
    • Scanned photo looks just like the original
    • Epson V550 Perfection Photo Scanner
    • Easy to use, quick scanning at 600x600 dpi, and multiple photos at a time
    • Oddly, it does not do 'positive' photo negatives either
    • Digital Ice available for both negatives/slides and photos (unlike v500 where only available for negatives/slides), but it's effectiveness varies
    • Enhanced old photos and produced photos from some very old negatives I had
    • I have been using Epson Perfection Photo scanners for years.
    • This scanner does an excellent job on digitizing photographs -- in fact, the digitized photo looks better than the original!
    • I do fine adjust the photos to my liking
    • Epson does a great job scanning photos and negatives as well, but you are limited to scanning photos no bigger than the scan plate.
    • Great photo scanner
    • Easy to use, good formats to select from, clear photos.
    • Some people may say that the extra money is not worth it, but you have to ask yourself, "What are your photos worth to you
    • Used it for copying slides - fantastic reproduction quality - you can do 4 slides at a time - not super fast but worth waiting for the great digital photos from the slides
    • I have used it for old photos and negatives, small and large and multiple photos in one scan
    • As long as they're not too close together, it detects each photo and separately scans/corrects every photo
    • Well, he has since scanned over 2,000 photos all with this scanner and he loves it.
    • While we haven't had time yet to use the negative adapter for film, scanning photos into the computer for a family reunion compilation was easy and once you set the scan quality to the highest, you get a perfect copy
    • I am ha Inge a little trouble doing multiple photos at once, as it sometimes puts two together as a single photo, but I'm still working out the kinks.
    • After several hours of troubleshooting, I discovered the problem is with film scanning (photo negatives).
    • Flat bed scanners are versatile and good for scanning delicate old damaged photos
    • Very good photo scanner
    • The software was then supposed to transfer the images back to the program that allows you to rename and save the images to the computer (Easy Photo Scan)
    • Once I master paper photos, I'll move on to slides and negatives, but the instructions that come with the scanner are clearly written and illustrated, and it's relatively simple to use
    • Digital ICE and the companion dust reducer for photos works well.
    • I worried about losing our family photos from a disaster like those seen on the news.
    • This will at least prevent any further deterioration, but doesn't do much to improve the photos.
    • The scanned photo was better than the original.
    • and I like the ICE function to clean photos.
    • As with any scanner, the best scans will result when you have a good photo or slide to work with from the beginning
    • I am using this scanner for photo negatives and positives
    • I scanned at 300dpi and the photos looked great on a 12" frame
    • Black and white photos that were rough shape were revived (maybe not perfect) and I am somewhat pleased with the ICE function.
    • The V600 Photo works well for any size of print
    • I blew up photos up 16x20", and was surprised to see great clarity and resolution with little grain with adjustments
    • It is very fast and photos are clear.
    • Put my photos in, click scan, wait, see result, split up the results into individual files
    • Also, some of the old color photos needed correction and cropping, but the "Professional" mode gave me choices that cleaned and improved the photos very well.
    • Some photos needed adjustment, and the Home mode worked very nicely.
    • The photos look clean and sharp
    • I've only had this a week, but so have scanned multiple family portraits dating from the early 1900s through modern color photos
    • Great photo and/or slides, including negatives,
    • Fixes a lot of bad photos, and it reads and saves negatives
    • Scanner works fine, reasonable job of improving photos, generally good at faded colors.
    • Combining the included software with Google Photos Sync makes sharing family photos easy
    • I was able to apply "color restoration" from a list of scan choices and the photos came out like new
    • Get this scanner, preserve your photos and memories, and burn them to M-Disc DVDs and BluRays.
    • Easy Photo Scan will be more responsive and you won't have to rescan your work if the software or OS crashes
    • Good Photo scanner but not good for film
    • It does do a nice job scanning photos, but the whole reason I got it was to scan negatives
    • to setup - great photo scans
    • I am enjoying scanning old family photos
    • I've played with this for only a few weeks, but it really does an excellent job with color and b/w 35mm negatives as well as printed photos (even shiny prints).
    • It does great photos and slides, color correction etc.
    • When scanning dark photos, these imperfections can show on the end result, meaning one must edit them out of an otherwise perfectly-scanned photo
    • I would have thought by its name it would be totally optimized for easy photo scanning but it is not.
    • I am also very happy with the digital ICE post processing that gets rid of dust and scratches so the final digital photo looks great.
    • It scans very well - a bit slow when using high quality, but it cleans up and enhances old color photos beyond my expectations.
    • While in LR, as the last enhancement, edit the photo in a separate software, Noiseless CK.5
    • Have scanned hundreds of old black and white photos as well as color photos and negatives.
    • photo in Photoshop would have taken me years to accomplish.
    • I would have to argue that, if you really crank the dpi up, you get to see the dust from the processor, or the cotton fibers from the print setups in my family's older photos
    • Pros:- easy to set up- able to scan multiple pictures of various sizes at one time- automatically improved colorCons:- in auto mode has a hard time separating out the pictures, treats multiple pictures as one photo- sometimes color improvement below par
    • Both have scanned well, though I was a little surprised that the black & white photos copied very well in the Home mode, using the "greyscale" setting, instead of the "black & white" setting.
    • Good Photo scanner but not good for film
    • It does sometimes have a problem isolating individual negative frames, but this can be corrected with any photo editor like Picassa or PhotoShop.
    • The led is nice and it doesn't get hot under heavy use like some older scanners i have used and burned out scanning photos
    • I had such high hopes for great photo projects for our family with this scanner
    • It's only Epson's most popular photo scanner and the number one selling flatbed scanner on Amazon.
    • Does exactly what I was looking for it to do - take large format wedding photo negatives, and digitize them.
    • I tried a number of the hand wand auto feeder models.....fast feeding of photos....but the trade off is poor photo quality
    • Yep: if you blur a photo it's hard to see the grain
    • Great photo and/or slides, including negatives,
    • So, I had to return the V600 Photo scanner and get the much more expensive V700 Photo scanner to get a slide/negative scanner that was large enough for my needs.
    • Not to mention being able to scan my Dad's old slides and 35 mm negatives and old photos
    • He also has Adobe to clean up the photos if they need it, although the scanner has some capability to do that as well, but it is fast and does a nice job.
    • The scanner is excellent in recovering basket case photos and somewhat difficult fine tuning already excellent photos
    • I have been scanning old photos no negatives.
    • Black and white photos that were rough shape were revived (maybe not perfect) and I am somewhat pleased with the ICE function.
    • I was happy t it works well with windows
