Epson Perfection V600 Color Photo, Image, Film, Negative & Document Scanner - Corded

    • It started with a red line being cast on all scans from the #1 negative tray
    • A few days ago I got pink/purple stripes across some of the scans, the ones in a specific side of the negative tray and only that one day, toward the end of the day.
    • It takes time, but you can speed things up a bit by ordering an extra set of the negative / slide trays.
    • I saw it in action a few times since and based on what I noticed, similar concerns echoed about the quality of life surrounding the film negative tray, which seems a bit flimsy, and some times annoying to clip together for scanning, but that was about it
    • this scanner is outstanding very easy to use the only drawback is the slide tray a little sloppy would be a lot more easy if you where able to swap out slide trays but other then that I find it
    • I never thought I'd advise that, but the Epson scanner software has evolved into a quality product that takes a little familiarization, but brings out the best in the V600.Load the flimsy but adequate film trays, preview, tweak each preview image individually for 20 seconds, select Unsharp Mask and Digital Ice Technology (color film only), and you'll get scans that are easily polished in Photoshop
    • I bought the different negative trays because I have a lot of different size negatives
    • I was happy t it works well with windows
    • Not as sharp as I'd like
    • The CSR was just as sweet as she could be, but she was as clueless as we were
    • We received it Saturday and I began to scan some photo prints as well as to rescan some I had scanned on the multifunction unit scanner.
    • Replaced my expensive HP Scanjet G4050 to use with my MAC because the HP was cantankerous & never worked as it was supposed to
    • therefore I'm disappointed because I feel I was mislead as to it's capabilities.
    • I scanned some negatives of a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park that were taken in 1964 and the results were as good as if I had taken them yesterday.
    • When I moved from Windows XP to Windows 7 a few years ago, the scanner would no longer work as it was not compatible with the later operating systems and it was time to retire it anyhow.
    • The more you use this the more you'll wonder if the process can be improved as it's quite time consuming
    • The holders come for 35mm slides and negatives as well as for other sizes, 127 and the larger b&w and color negatives from the 1950's
