I called Epson support, and after 44 minutes they were happy to tell me that this printer requires a cartridge with sufficient ink to perform ANY function.

This wouldn't be so disappointing if the ink itself was not so expensive.

Ink runs out WAY to fast and doesn't allow you to print thru the "low ink" stage it just completely refuses to attempt ANY printing

It has been working perfectly and the ink is much cheaper than the ink from HP.

It sucks ink like a drunken man and once one color is out, which happens very quickly, it will only let you print in black and gray a few times before it automatically defaults you to the "BUY EPSON

It uses black ink like it's a drowning man in water, but it works flawlessly.

Multiple head cleanings was just a waste of expensive ink

Ink is a total rip off too.

By the way, you should know that the cartridge that they say has twice the ink of the normal cartridge is incompatible.

I've changed ink, cleaned the nozzle and everything else

The problem is I want to print in black and white but the printer loves it's nozzle checks and print head alignments and every time it does, it drains your color ink

You can only use their very expensive ink

I have owned so many other printers and this Epson is an incredible color ink

I bought it because the ink was cheaper on average but the ink doesn't seem to last very long, especially with non-use

Dont waste your money this thing is ink hungry i go to scan some paper work and it refuses to do anything unless it gets its new ink cartridges and if one gets to low nope replace

Got a message about the black ink not working I tried the ink out if both new packages and it still won’t work

I replaced the ink and cleaned the nozzles, but it didn't help.

The black and yellow ink both have broken lines no matter how many times you do a cleaning cycle or align the print heads

f you run out of color ink because it wanted to run 20 nozzle checks and wants another one, you cannot print in black and white because it disables printing until you replace that expensive color ink.

I only hope there is good generic ink for it, as the Epson ink is too expensive.

This is a nice printer, It is fast, the ink isn't too expensive and the wireless setup was easy.

Plus I lost the partial ink from the period when it was printing poorly

The kicker is that it uses those skinny ink cartridges and as I use this for business has run out of black ink twice already whereas my HP, using the larger cartridges, only needed replacement about quarterly.

Lately we only print every couple of months and the ink seems to dry out or get used up as the printer cleans itself

(the Xerox Phaser crayon ink was/is expensive, but still the best ink printers around)

- They will waste color ink with every print, and then will not allow the user to print only in black ink if any of the color cartridges are low or out

Plus every time I re-seat a cartridge, it charges it like I've put in a new cartridge and uses up that expensive ink

yes ive realigned and cleaned and done all the maintenance to the extent of exhausting the ink.

We have thrown good money after bad buying ink a 2nd time thinking the ink was defective.

This printer has one of the worst ink managements I have ever seen

And by the way, with every head cleaning, you are using up ink faster than if you were rprinting

Relatively easy to set up, worked great for a month... then ran out of black ink (strange, as I don't print all that often - yet often enough that cartridge doesn't dry out).

The ink tends to clog up beyond repair.

Ink was easy to install.

The ink is incredibly expensive, most of the time the printer won’t recognize the cartridges (so you’re dead in the water), and when it does, you are lucky if you can print 5 pages before it’s decided the cartridge is empty.

The ink is a little pricey but the generic offered at Amazon was compatible and high quality

I was told that the product is no longer under warranty, therefore I would have to pay to have it repaired, even though the printer showed signs of malfunction prior to the warranty expiration, which they were totally aware of because when I initially called them they said the ink was the problem
