The big nuisance is, and will get worse as more cars on the road have higher tech safety features, the unit goes off when you pull behind (within 50 to 100 feet) of a vehicle that has the new backup and/or blind spot monitoring system on their vehicle; these features use K-band radar at the same frequency as police radar.

Locks out most blind spot monitors on new vehicles

Driving through my normal commute, the iX is fooled in to alerting K Band by most GM vehicles that use radar for cruise control and blind spot assistance

Such as blind spot monitoring, cruise control, traffic sensors etc

The Auto lock and Auto learn features are great and it filters a lot more false alarms (ex. radio waves that other cars emit like active cruise control, auto braking, blind spot monitor etc..) than previous generation radar detectors.

I also feel like I get some false K alerts from blind spot monitoring and cruise control systems that utilize radar.

Very accurate and has saved me countless times from CHP in their favorite spots
