The cup itself is very, very sticky, plus once it's mounted, you engage a lever that creates a vacuum behind it.

The "sticky mount" on the windshield is excellent and I am very impressed with how well the detector works.

This seems to have resolved this concern, and a small black zip-tie is pretty subtle, but honestly should you need to zip-tie a premium detector to keep it together?!Problem #2: the mount!
