Escort Max ll HD Radar Detector

    • False positive/false signal rejection: 2 3
    • This past week I actually picked up a sudden strong Ka band signal when a hidden cop was LITERALLY right next to me.
    • Auto-learn ability (learns and blocks out false signals like those from stationary
    • I would like to further center my review from perspective of an individual who 'appreciates' signal interception and interpretation from a much deeper understanding - well beyond the mild annoyance of a simple speeding ticket
    • Very little false signals.
    • Where this detector is falling flat on its face though is in the detection and failure to reject false signals from moving sources – namely the array of safety sensors used in the latest generation of vehicles.
    • It does actually learn to ignore false, stationary signals after a few
    • Still, you would think the signal processing capabilities of this detector would be able to measure and determine that the source has some variability associated to it over time – and still be able to classify it as a false signal.
    • False signal reduction is a key element in this endeavor, and the above noted issues with vehicle safety sensors is essentially trumping any advantage this detector had relating to rejection of static false signals
    • I have gotten a couple of false laser signals, not sure what's up with that (once was just sitting in my driveway).
    • However, while the signal processing speed/capabilities help eliminate a large number of static false signals, unfortunately Escort is either unwilling, slow to develop or unable to upgrade the firmware to address the emergent issues related to moving false signals caused by late-model safety sensors.
    • It actually does detect and lock out false signals
    • Pro:1-has GPS which helps locate red light cameras & helps tag false alarm locations.2-has one of the longest detection ranges.3-it can eliminate some of the false signals that cars with collision avoidance features have.
    • This detector also does a good job rejecting false signal rejection originating from static (fixed) sources.
    • I love that you can block out a signal and it genuinely works!
    • The digital signal processing is highly effective, it's eliminates false signals once it's sure that's what it is
    • I love that it locks out false signals such as automatic door openers.
    • However, while the Max is good at locking out static/non stationary signals and is getting better a locking out moving signals, it still struggles with dynamic/moving radar emissions such as blind spot monitors from vehicles
    • I do mostly city driving so there are a lot of false radar signals.
    • False positive/false signal rejection: 2 3
    • False positive/false signal rejection: 2 3
    • The ability to flag a location as a false signal is simple (press Mute 3 times)- Ability for it to warn you when you are going over the speed limit is nice (I set it to warn me when I went 5 mph over).
    • It is quite effortless, when working, and locks out false signals quickly
    • I found there to be virtually zero blind spot signal filtering and every single shopping center would trip the detector
