Escort Max ll HD Radar Detector

    • Newer cars with the "blind spot" side view mirrors will cause alarms but I've learned when it's an actual alert or an blind spot sensor.
    • so marking hot spots would be pretty impossible
    • The Max, like every other detector on the market, still struggles with the dynamic (moving) radar noise (such as the ever increasing blind spot monitors and collision avoidance systems on today's vehicles)
    • Good on open roads, downfall is false alarms from other cars with blind spot and adaptive cruise control.
    • However, while the Max is good at locking out static/non stationary signals and is getting better a locking out moving signals, it still struggles with dynamic/moving radar emissions such as blind spot monitors from vehicles
    • still like it, but it seems to give off too many false alerts for cars with blind spot detectors and or ez pass cards.
    • A few sore spots I've noticed were poor rear detection and directional arrows
    • I found there to be virtually zero blind spot signal filtering and every single shopping center would trip the detector
    • I didn't realize how difficult it is for radar detectors today to differentiate between police and vehicle assist features, such as blind spot assist and automatic cruise control
    • This detector works ok but falses constantly on blind spot monitors from other vehicles
    • Also, the KA band is constantly being set off by blind spot monitoring systems.
    • so marking hot spots would be pretty impossible
    • I’ve downgraded this detector from 4 to 3 stars due to the ever-increasing frequency this detector provides false alarms caused by blind-spot sensors (on late model vehicles).
    • (I have to use the app to truly hear the alert)I've yet to have any issue with the blind spot monitors
    • After a month all the false alerts are gone (beside an occasional blind spot monitor from a near by car.
