this bass is a 35" inch scale giving the low B string a very nice tone with a nice string tension

I would highly recommend this bass to anyone who is looking for a relatively inexpensive 6 string for any genera of music

I recommend D'addarios nylon Tape-wound strings

After I removed the original cheap strings (that left a dark-grey deposit on my fingers) it came with and replaced them with DR Low Rider strings, it still doesn't sound impressive

It is still a good bass to check out, with a slightly slimmer neck (depth wise) and wider string spacing, but I find that the tone cannot be shaped as well as with the ESP

I replaced the strings with flat wound and like them much better.[EDIT] 1 year later and the bass still sounds and looks great

So, if you're looking for a vary smooth R&B / funk sound, this may be the right choice for you
