The Genie is a great device for using Amazon Alexa with it

I'd ask it to play music, and then the Eufy or Dot would recognize that the other device was already playing music and would ask me if I wanted to switch devices and, even though I said "yes," it would not switch over, and both would continue playing musicAll in all, I think the Eufy is a great entry device IF you catch a sale where it is only $20 or $25, and IF you don't need bluetooth, the calling features, integration between multiple devices, and IF you don't mind telling it to restart your music after it has inexplicably stopped playing it, etc

so I'd rather spend the money and get a device that works 100% with the system instead of one that works 50%.If all you want is a cheap Alexa device to perform simple

The Device itself gets pretty loud when you use it, but it also can plug into an external speaker to provide even bigger sound if you wanted to

This device was hard of hearing from day one

If you catch it on sale like I did, it’s not a bad device.

The device is basically a microphone and a speaker and neither of them work well

Overall this is an excellent device, the one downside is that the microphone is REALLY sensitive

For the price it would be a great device if it behaved properly and as expected, but for now, I'd have to say it falls a bit short and you'd be better off going with a refurb Dot or wait for a sale to get to the same price point.

Well as we add more smart devices to our homes, we have challenges, like interefrence, channel overlap, neighbor's wifi, all add up for a very bad wifi experience and poor performance

When reaching out to support, it was noted that you have to completely refresh the device, and remove the app, from your phone

I do plan to add some smart devices in my home to control lights, thermostat, etc

Unfortunately this device seems to have some serious limitations and, in my opinion, not even worth the $20 that I paid and the hours that I've spent attempting to link my accounts if it supported the functionality

1:The device just keeps losing connection and I was not able to find a way in the eufy genie app to reset just the WiFi connection without having to deactivate the device and go through the entire setup process again

For the price, this is a great device

On it's own, it's a decent device, but not as good at hearing/understanding you as the Dot, and much slower response times.

It manages all of your smart Eufy devices (which you can voice control with the Eufy Genie...there are lightbulbs, robovacuums, etc.).The device itself has the same size base as an Echo Dot, but stands a bit taller than the Echo Dot

I purchased this device to complement my other devices, and add Alexa capability to my garage

Airplay 2 would make this a significantly better device.

It might be a good basic device if you have an elderly family member who just needs to set a few reminders too

I haven't got any smart devices to have it control, but as is, I can imagine that this would be perfect for a college dorm room, kitchen, an elderly relative, or something like that.

It's very hard to see the downside to buying this device if you're unsure about which platform will prevail in the long-term (which may only be a couple of years) or if you just want to dip your toes into the waters of Voice Assistant World.

In the end, if you understand the limitation of the device, and understand what your needs are , this is a great and affordable device to get and it will suit the needs perfectly.

It was worth the money to have a hands-free device in the kitchen for music, listening to podcasts, and timer

About once a day, the device loses internet connection and WILL NOT reconnect itself without pressing the reset button and going through the setup process again

I can only assume that I received a bad device, but I am extremely disappointed, and have an extremely upset child that wanted nothing more than to play with Alexa this evening.....

Perfect Alexa powered device to use in dusty, moist or harsh environments where you do not wish to risk a more expensive ECHO.

Update:I sent for a replacement and it worked great.....until the latest firmware was pushed and it now has the same issue as the first device.

I still can't recommend this device when you can pick up an echo Dot warehouse deal for about $25

Where do I start?It's a knockoff, bootleg, "decent" device.

My problem is that Alexa isn't that useful without home automation smart devices

The Eufy Genie, a hands free, voice controlled device with a 2w speaker, ( which puts out an impressive amount of sound for the size ) definitely makes my life easier by controlling lights throughout my apartment, initiating my RoboVac to clean, playing my music, helping me arrange an Uber, providing news and information, in addition to a plethora of other "skills"

Thing is, so do my other home wireless smart devices such as my thermostat, plugs, etc (why I wanted to get Eufy to voice command them) and I had no issues with them connecting to my guest network (even tried the home network and still no luck).I did finally get a live person yesterday and they are indeed friendly and appreciate that he didn't make me waste my time going through all the steps that have been done and redone several times and we did try a couple

Being that this device is so inexpensive, it doesn't have Bluetooth or 5 GHz WiFi like its Amazon cousins, but it does have workable 2.4 GHz WiFi with good connectivity and a 3.5 mm audio cable to connect it to other speakers

I thought that it would be a great idea to have a better sounding device in my office as I work from home.

It works as well as the genuine Amazon devices I have, at a lower cost.

Now, this wouldn't be an big issue except I could not change the wake name of this like I can with the Amazon's devices

There is little or no delay in getting responses or controlling my smart home devices.

I've been thinking of getting a smart device and saw this Eufy Genie pop up

I’m still pretty happy with mine, for one reason: it is an airplay audio receiver, as well as an alexa device.

Overall, it is a really great device

The Eufy Genie is an excellent Alexa enabled device, and is a great accessory for your connected home

I like this as a spare Alexa device for travel

Update - after using this for a few months I will not be buying anymore or recommend this to anyone as it's not a reliable device

Both devices worked upon delivery, and were easy to set up

If you use a lot of Eufy smart devices or are interested in using them, then this will also enable you to maximize the benefits of using those

This is really an Excellent entry device to the Alexa Echo System, and I can highly recommend it if you want to save a few bucks vs buying an echo Dot

So when I look to add another Alexa capable device, I started look outside the Amazon devices

Hope the device keeps working normal.

With the powerful speaker and mics, I realized I could cover an entire floor with one of these... which I did!.I've noticed some deficiencies when compared to the Amazon Dot, which I've articulated to Anker, and they have indicated with soon to be released firmware upgrades, this device will be ready for the masses

I hope when airplay 2 comes out, this device supports that as well.

Also, this device doesn't support the multi room audio (yet?)

This device sounds great with music and was easy to set up with out wifi system, We have the Echo too

I much prefer them to normal dots because they work as airplay devices

I would imagine the average person is purchasing this more as an Alexa device rather than purely as a music speaker and for that it does almost as good a job as any alexa device I've tried.

I stated, these deficiencies will be addressed shortly, and when they are, this will be the preferred device for myself (and most other consumers) considering what you get for the price.

I am personally a power user and all about finding productive solutions, so for me this is a great device to use to get an overview of my day, updates, and even just to have a little bit of fun during a break
