Fellowes Powershred W11C, 11-Sheet Cross-cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder with Safety Lock

    • I didn't shred adhesive backed address labels, but did occasionally shred credit cards & I only put a max of 3 sheets of paper through at a time, because it made loud noises
    • It is making a horrendous noise and will shred 5-6 sheets before it stops completely.
    • All in all, I will take the that fact that it doesn’t jam easily and is easy to clean, particularly if you use a plastic grocery bag, over the annoying noise level and heavy top that needs to be removed to clean
    • This new unit works amazingly well, however the noise is at least 5 times louder than the old one.
    • And the noise was ridiculous
    • Didn't make any weird noises
    • I believe the thermal shutdown which enforces the cool down was not working, so after shredding for a couple of minutes it started making weird noises and the gear inside melted
    • Used zip tie to have that switch always on, which means that now the motor will be always on no matter if the paper is present or not as long as the primary switch on top of the cover is on ( a lil annoying noise wise)
    • It has a solid waste basket with a small opening across the front which makes ALL THE NOISE go straight up which really hurts your ears!
    • All in all, I will take the that fact that it doesn’t jam easily and is easy to clean, particularly if you use a plastic grocery bag, over the annoying noise level and heavy top that needs to be removed to clean
    • Recently I was having trouble with consistent jamming and a loud grinding noise inside the body of the shredder.
    • The noise is not an issue because it is a shredder
    • When it started to develop problems, the plastic parts hanging down from the metal shredding blades started to break off and the unit made horrible noises
    • If the noise is not an issue to you, then I highly recommend.
    • I would give it 5 stars for effort though - the loud, pitiful noise it makes while failing to perform its one and only function lets you know it really is trying its level best.
    • Disappointed in the rather loud noise level.
    • This guy has a big punch however, with big punch comes loud noise
    • Works fine!but the NOISE!
    • noise is very loud and will not work on a single sheet of paper, must use at least two sheets.
    • The noise doesn't really bother me that much since I use it in a home environment but in an office, that might be another story
    • Adequate shredding performance but prohibitive noise level.
    • We must have been spoiled with our prior shredder, but this one puts out a high-pitched loud noise that sounds exactly like screws being whirred in a 1950's blender.
    • Only small dislike is the noise - rather loud..
    • Once it cools down I am thinking it
    • Its quiet, thats a big change.
    • I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
