This shredder takes all I feed it and does a great job.
A little loud, but does a great job shredding anything up to credit cards.
It does a good job shredding, wastes no time except for the noise that seems to continue too long after the product being shredded has cleared and gone into the storage bin.
This shredder is very powerful and does a great job for us.
This shredder does a good job of shredding, but it is quite loud
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
Excellent Value -- compact and efficient -- and a major aid in my home office.
This model offers great value for the money, strong recommendation from us!
My replacement showed up a week later and it's died as
Excellent Value -- compact and efficient -- and a major aid in my home office.
The cut on this shredder is that same cheap bigger sized confetti and the cross cut quality of my old Fellowes is now called micro-cut.
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
I use 8 gallon (medium size) trash bags for this shredder... so this also holds more shredded paper than my previous model (which means less times that I need to replace the bags).
Decent size too compared to all the small ones out there.
I have to say, I am impressed: I put my little Fellowes shredder to the test this weekend, shredding about ten 13-gallon sized garbage bags full of paper
I like the lock feature, don't have to worry about anyone accidentally hurting themselves on the shredder.
The safety lock is another GREAT feature especially if you have children or pets who may become inquisitive.
The autosensing shred feature has already quit working.
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
But the worst feature is in that it does not take the 11 sheets that it claim it can take.
Does the job it was purchased for, compact and lightweight
This shredder is so powerful and such a great purchase.
I ended up purchasing an Amazon Basics shredder, and it worked out wonderfully!
When I first purchased this product, it worked efficiently and consistently, however, it has not been two months and it has stopped working
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
I purchased this unit August 2013, the handle to remove the motor broke off within the first 2 weeks, very weak handle poorly arttached to the motor unit.
It's a heavy machine, with a nice handle to lift off the shredder head to empty the bucket
However that cheap plastic handle keeps pulling out and now it's broke
But recently the handle broke and now it is hard to pick up the top to empty the paper shreds
The handle is plastic and fell off after the second or third use.
because of nasty dumping, it took out our brand new vacuum cleaner, requiring it to be serviced, because the shredded paper is too easily clogged in vacuums.
This is the by far the worst paper shredder I have ever owned
I had to manually pluck the paper from under the sensor to free it and get the shredder working again.
Unlike my old shredder, when its time to clean the waste, paper isn't hung up in the shredder
When trying to clear paper from the underside be very careful
Taking it apart led me to a basic design flaw: the gear on the motor shaft is metal but the gear on the shredder side is plastic
Now I have to buy a whole new shredder because of a poorly engineered design and a freaking 20 cent teflon gear that shouldnt have been in there in the first place.
It also seems like the gears are about to crush each other vs the paper it is supposed to be cutting.
I noticed it stop taking the paper as fast as it once did, so I took it apart.
The gears broke on the previous version after several years of infrequent use
A shred of paper came back up through the shredder and broke the internal safety switch.
So I will have to fiddle with it to get it to depress the switch.
When the second shredder arrived, I again followed the instructions, but this time, before I could even start feeding paper, the forward switch was dead
He gave me instructions on how to try to get the switch working again (two pieces of paper folded twice, manipulate the switch) and said if it didn't work, call again and they would send a new shredder free of charge
This worked great for 8 years, but the cheap, plastic power switch just broke
Noisy operation and credit card shredding doesn't really work
Can handle most mail still in the envelope except they are getting really ridiculous with those credit card offers now and those big fat envelopes with those fake plastic sample cards do get clogged up in this shredder
Terrific shredder, but extremely noisy; happy that it can handle expired credit cards and staples as well as multiple sheets of paper
I noticed it stop taking the paper as fast as it once did, so I took it apart.
The shredder does it's job well when cutting through paper as well as credit cards
It is making a horrendous noise and will shred 5-6 sheets before it stops completely.
All in all, I will take the that fact that it doesn’t jam easily and is easy to clean, particularly if you use a plastic grocery bag, over the annoying noise level and heavy top that needs to be removed to clean
The noise doesn't really bother me that much since I use it in a home environment but in an office, that might be another story
This new unit works amazingly well, however the noise is at least 5 times louder than the old one.
Adequate shredding performance but prohibitive noise level.
The issue I had is the bucket is very chintzy and lightweight
I love the convenience of having this shredder, my only complaint is the bucket feels a bit cheap.
I do make sure to put oil on a sheet after I dump the bucket to keep the teeth sharp and clean.
I would have liked the bucket to be bigger
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
It's very noisy compared to the Staples MailMate that I used before
The downfall it is extremely loud compared to other shredders
Seems to do its job so far but it is a little noisy compared to my previous shredder (which I would have purchased but it is no longer manufactured).
I forgot to pay attention to look at how long I should use before break... so after ~ 15 minutes of continuous shredding, my shredder went straight to the e-waste stack right after
It is Excessively NOISY compared with other Fellowes shredders I previously owned.
It died after 16 months - totally unacceptable especially considering the price!
lasted not even two months, probably not even 30 sheets of paper have passed through and does not work.
This shredder took about 2 months of moderate usage to break
This creates a critical issue because of the safety features of the shredder means it will not work unless perfectly seated on the basket - and when the basket deforms it won't seat properly, thus 8 months into ownership this thing is a doorstop.
This one lasted 18 months before burning electic odor began
