Fellowes Powershred W11C, 11-Sheet Cross-cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder with Safety Lock

    • This worked great for 8 years, but the cheap, plastic power switch just broke
    • What I found was that the cheap plastic mechanism that activated the switch allowing the shredder to run in the forward direction was shot.
    • basket is cheap plastic but for the rpice if youarent shredding all day long is an OK choice
    • However that cheap plastic handle keeps pulling out and now it's broke
    • If the plastic is even slightly warped, or otherwise out of alignment, the shredder refuses to run
    • I removed the damaged plastic pieces and conducted my own repairs overriding the switch
    • To me it's just a piece of wasted metal and plastic
    • The plastic bin warped which caused the shredder unit to not sit correctly, which in turn did not allow the safety sensors to align.
    • The plastic was damaged in my unit.
    • Cheap plastic

    • Otherwise, it works very well with shredding several documents at a time and thick plastic like credit cards, etc
    • The build looks uber cheap- plastic casing of the blades and the motor seems like it’ll disintegate if you look at it
    • The plastic switch the paper has to engage when you put paper in it broke-off, so the shredder doesn't function anymore except in reverse
    • We use a cheap, thin plastic bag and replace it when full.
    • I noticed it stop taking the paper as fast as it once did, so I took it apart.
    • Works as I expected.
    • My replacement showed up a week later and it's died as
    • Its quiet, thats a big change.
    • Once it cools down I am thinking it
