Final Fantasy Chronicles: Chrono Trigger/Final Fantasy IV

    • It was originally designed to run on the 1980's 8-bit Nintendo, but at the last minute FF4 was upgraded to run on the just-released 16-bit Super Nintendo, and it comes across as primitive, both in graphics and story.
    • I grew up in the Super Nintendo generation, and fondly remember many hours spent both playing Final Fantasy 2 (FF4 in Japan) and Chrono Trigger.
    • The game is now harder than the Super Nintendo version and translation was redone (Though some infamous quotes were kept)
    • The added anime scenes are great and worth playing through again if you've already played it to death on Super Nintendo
    • I played them on the original Super Nintendo, and continued to play them time and time again.
    • Chrono Trigger is one of the hardest to find, and best Super Nintendo games made and aren't we lucky that it is easier to find now
    • Even the Super Nintendo version is pretty good, if you have access to a Super Nintendo, or a Wii
    • Chrono Trigger was one of the last Super Nintendo (SNES) RPGs ever made and included a variety of innovations
    • But truth be told, the loading times on Chrono Trigger are not as horrible as Final Fantasy 6's, which were by all means the worst loading times Ive ever experienced, and I'd rather pay for a Super Nintendo and the game itself so I could avoid them (and the SNES version is much better for that game anyway)
    • Only those who can't tolerate Super Nintendo graphics should skip this game
    • This was my first RPG on Super Nintendo, and I still have it.
    • i remember saving up my allowances and lawn mowing earnings to buy my first super nintendo a long long time ago
    • These games were originally designed to be displayed on the Super Nintendo, and the Playstation has a hard time keeping up with all of the sprite based graphics.
    • Both games are fun and remind me of when I was young and used to play them on the SNES ( super nintendo entertainment system
    • Chrono Trigger is easily one of the best games that the Super Nintendo ever had.
    • Square has remedied this omission brilliantly with the release of Final Fantasy Chronicles for the US.To many people, Final Fantasy II on the Super Nintendo set the standard for console RPGs to follow with its non-linear gameplay, involved story line, detailed characters, and beautiful musical score.
    • Any RPG fan who owned a Super Nintendo in the early '90s will no doubt recongnize the two games included in this package
    • The graphics were outstanding for the time; animated in a colorful and very Toriyama-esque style, its pretty smooth for a Super Nintendo game.
    • For years, I've heard about Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan) and Chrono Trigger, both Super Nintendo classics
    • A game this epic is best played on the Super Nintendo, not the Playstation where you have to sit through painful load times
    • They have returned, in all their Super Nintendo glory, and have been well preserved
    • Since the Original ChronoTrigger was on Super Nintendo, this is a oldie but a goodie
    • To those who don't know the Super Nintendo release was, shall we say, dumbed down for the Americans (since when are Americans dumb?
    • As most FF buffs would know, Square actually translated the normal FF4 into english and localized it, unlike the "FF2" version we had for Super Nintendo, which was actually the Japanese EasyType version made for kiddies and the RPG impaired
    • FFIV have been much more harder than the original that was been released on Super Nintendo.
    • I would really suggest buying this game, even if you have it on Super Nintendo
    • Former Super Nintendo owners will be in heaven while newcomers might think that this game is outdated they are entirely incorrect.
    • Final Fantasy 4 was the very first Final Fantasy game to be released for the Super Nintendo, and introduced many features for the first time that would later become a staple of the series.
    • This version of the game also has well-done animated cutscenes that are lacking in the original Super Nintendo version
    • If these games on the PlayStation can live up to the original super Nintendo versions, this is going to be a magnificent set
    • If you have a Super Nintendo and have Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger you don't really have to bother buying this game, unless you want to check out the added features).FF4 is just like the SNES version only its been enhanced with new magic, monsters, items, and CG(computer generated)cinemas and more stuff
    • Definitely worth the buy if you have ever played the old Final Fantasy 2 on Super Nintendo, Or Chrono Trigger two of the best RPG's ever to come out of that generation.
    • It may have 24 bits, But for those that grow up with nintendo and super nintendo like this style
    • For me to see something like this package on Playstation that was originally on a super nintendo, is more than a great deal
    • As for Final Fantasy IV, I suggest playing this on the Super Nintendo as well, but the game would be in Japanese
    • Loved Chronotrigger when it was on the old super nintendo.
    • This Collection is a must have, even if you still have them on Super Nintendo!
    • The backgrounds are plain, the animation of sprite characters are pretty basic, but minus, the superb 2-D monster designs
