Granted the graphics aren't up to the level that we are used to today, but the story and gameplay are more then enough to make up for this

So, before I begin this review, I would like to qualify that I'm a huge Squaresoft fan: I have played thirteen different final fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, and Xenogears

The story is great, the fighting system is great, there aren't that many battles you can't avoid (thank God), and the anime cinemas by the creator of Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z added to this version are awesome.

Now for Chrono Trigger: This is a masterpiece of a game that I still haven't seen story or game play surpass since.

Chrono Trigger is a game of time travel where the story unravels very well as you play, learning more of Lavos, the creature from space that crashed into Earth in the Prehistoric time, then lay dormant until The Day of Lavos in the year 1999

After all, superior graphics cannot beat the power of a solid story line.
