Buy the Boom if you need loud and the Fugoo if you want sound quality at softer volumes

Courtesy of the Amazon Vine program, I have received a “Fugoo Tough Bluetooth Wireless Speaker” for review

I worked a twelve hour shift and the fugoo lasted through all but one of those hours at full volume.

I also have a minijam jawbone that only has two drivers and the Fugoo is only slightly louder because I cant tun up without distortion where as jawbone can be turned up all the way without distortion

I can't recommend the fugoo, considering that it's advertised to be very tough and they have issues with their support.

IPX rating way beyond any other device mentioned: It can be submerged in water for 30 minutes!40 hours battery life!Really small!Update:Almost one year after owning, I bricked the unit doing an update by disconnecting during update (my understanding is Fugoo is working on making firmware update more robust to avoid this issue.

I have a $50 speaker from Costco that gets TWICE a loud as this FUGOO Tough

The FUGOO Tough Bluetooth speaker lasts even longer than that

After approximately 3 months of gentle use, my Tough Fugoo started performing erratically

No matter what, I found that the Fugoo just didn't sound right, like there was a lack of smoothness here

Fugoo starts distorting in the mids while not even turned up very much

I know FUGOO is working on pairing 2 speakers together via an app, so when that happens I'm ready, haha

So far our FUGOO has been wonderful.

I got caught paddling in a hailstorm one day and when most people would panic to throw their speaker in their bag (oh wait, most people don't have the option to take their speaker on the water!), I continued to jam out while I paddled back to shore with no concern at all that my Fugoo wouldn't perform just as well the next day.

I will hang on to the Nyne TT because of the good sound and volume aspects, but would love the 40 hr battery and water proof Fugoo has

For me, I knew I bought into an expensively small speaker; but I wanted a small, sturdy, solidly-built portable bluetooth speaker and I found it in Fugoo Tough

The Fugoo sounds good, but not as good as the Bose, especially in the base range.

The Fugoo Tough is Manlier than bacon

Worked out good because my husband prefers the Bose (has a richer base sound, good for his heavy metal and blues) and I prefer the Fugoo (crisper mid and high ranges, good for my prog rock)

The Fugoo has fantastic sound clarity with outstanding range from bass to treble.

I had previously purchased a FUGOO Tough for my daughter after testing every popular speaker in person (Beats, Bose, JBL, and several others) because the FUGOO had the best sound and was very cool and durable.

After downloading the update 01.00.46 the volume improved even more!Compared to other battery powered speakers, the fugoo is true tough and has impressive sound quality (for such a small speaker) and at least 4x longer lasting battery time!!!!I take it out rowing & sailing on the lake in the wet Netherlands climate!

At a distance of several feet, the Fugoo is quieter than all the other speakers I own except the no-brand shower speaker.

I tried out the Bose Soundlink II, Polk Audio Camden Square, Braven BRV-X, Sony SRS-X3, and Sony SRS-X5 along with the Fugoo, and in terms of sheer audio quality the Fugoo is simply superior

The Fugoo easily beats the UE Boom on sound quality...at least to my ear

the Klipsch KMC-1 is louder and sounds better but it is just a speaker with limited functionality, not a Fugoo…

Its obvious that Fugoo is working to create a quality product and even their packaging is telling of this

Disappointed in sound quality, I purchased a UE Boom to compare and it won on sound hands down, in volume and quality (I found the fugoo a bit tinny and lacking bass)

I kept both, however, side by side the Fugoo is far superior in sound quality

The Fugoo has much better capability with mid range, treble and is much clearer on the vocals.

I have also have heard the Beats Pill and it blows the Fugoo away on sound but its not waterproof or shockproof.

I had a TDK bluetooth speaker and it absolutely blew the fugoo out of the water on sound but the battery life was like 3 hours at full volume so I had to take it back

I compared my mom's UE BOOM to my Fugoo and the BOOM blows the Fugoo away (and it's $30 cheaper)

On rock songs, the Fugoo had better sound fidelity over the Flip 2, but it wouldn't be enough to justify the extra price tag of the Fugoo

Yes, the Boom is louder, but at moderate volume the Fugoo is the clear winner in terms of sound quality

all the other advantages the Fugoo has over the Mini are not enough for me to choose this speaker over the Bose for the same price.

Customer service is equally as important as product quality and of course, Fugoo delivers here as well.

I had first purchased the first Fugoo with the tough case from Amazon and loved it

I have to say, Fugoo's done something very, very right, and I simply cannot recommend these speakers more strongly

The Fugoo crashed hard at max volume .

But fugoo is just too good

Like another post mentioned, the Fugoo's sound does not reach the same level as the JBL Flip 2's sound, which is rather sad, considering the Flip 2 costs half as much yet boasts overall louder and subjectively better audio

Thus, the fugoo is AMAZING for the features it has, and truly delivers an astute performance

UE confidently delivers the required volume clearly with power to spare whereas the Fugoo just sounds like a small speaker with good clarity

At low volume, I did like the Fugoo's sound a bit better - it was a tad more crisp and clear.

Unfortunately, the Fugoo only shined in two categories: style and sound at low to moderate volume.

Compared with offerings from UE Boom, Anker, Creative labs, JBL, the Fugoo falls short for its mission.

The fugoo lacks deep bass although it has a couple small woofers

I got similar size JBL flip-3 for similar price - much better basses and much higher volume, connecting to different blue-tooth devices goes smoother (FUGOO need to switch-off/on frequently for connection).One FUGOO advantage - long battery life

Don't need to rehash what others have already said: The Fugoo Tough has GREAT full 360 degree sound from such a small box, it's almost shocking to hear such quality sound from such a small little box.

And with smooth and well-balanced midrange and treble, the Fugoo is good for everything from classic rock to instrumentals
