If you set it on a hard surface it really projects well, if it is sitting on a couch cushion some of the sound is absorbed.
-
Sound quality in specific conditions on a hard surface in a small room is good, however this unit has no usable volume, and bass or any lower frequencies are non existent
-
Every aspect of the core unit is protected by this impressive Tough cover, I have no doubt if dropped on a relatively hard surface such as a glass surface or hardwood floor it would likely inflict more damage than it would endure
-
He swam about 15ft down, swooped it up, and without missing a beat (pun intended), broke the surface of the water and re-synced with my ipod to keep playing it’s well balanced, 360 degree sound
-
I find there are only a few environments in which it was disappointing- my noisy and hard-surfaced 300 sq' shop, and outdoors at anything more than ten feet
-
The 360 degree sound is excellent, but if you want loud sound towards just one direction then put a hard surface on the other side so as to reflect the sound.
-
I was sent a Tough S with only a 15 hour battery life when the description reads a 40 hour battery life
-
There is a big bass hump between 60 to 90Hz so R&B, dance and similar music sound good but not natural on it
-
Ive recommended it to many of my friends as, having owned other small speakers in the past that we at best a bit functional, this speaker with its voice instructions,is truly very special
-
While the bass and overall sound quality is slightly better with the Bose, the battery drains as you let it sit!
-
One would expect a speaker, that is designed as well as it is claimed to be, to last longer than 1.5 years
-
Rugged design and water proof no negative as of now
-
On occasion I would have to blow the water out of it, because it wasn't as loud and crisp as it had been after getting wet.
-
And just b/c the volume may be louder on other speakers, doesn't mean it's quality volume.
