The pilot hole for the big screws were only a 1/4 inch deep so the screws can split the small pieces of wood.

We just substituted what we thought would work and thinking like the Chinese person who originally package this, we used a piece a chopstick and it worked fine

The little pieces of wood that are meant to hold books arrived broken, and even if they weren't broken, there is no way they would hold any book.
