Garmin BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera

    • The camera is clearer and works better at night than the backup camera that I replaced
    • In this day and age of cheap electronics is there any reason to sell a cheap camera that is grainy without night vision, seriously how much more would it cost to put a good camera in the kit $5 or $10?
    • The camera is clearer and works better at night than the backup camera that I replaced
    • I would clean the camera, make sure is was aimed correctly, etc
    • Camera every easy to install.
    • Camera works as described
    • love my new back up camera
    • Great camera!
    • If you don't already have a GPS, I would recommend the the Drivesmart 61 because it has a very large 7" display which makes the backup camera much easier to work with.
    • My only concern is the backup camera and whether or not it will survive the brushes of a commercial car wash.
    • This is the absolute worst camera I have ever seen
    • The camera has been working perfectly but the installation may be difficult for some.
    • The backup camera works great
    • Works OK but not as clear as the backup cameras we have on our Subaru Legacy & Subaru Outback,
    • Not because of the resolution (which is very low), but because this camera is dangerous
    • Once this cable stops working the camera is useless until you buy the $80 replacement cable
    • So I purchased both a Garmin GPS--that includes as a featured option the ability to display backup camera images from the Garmin BC30 Wireless Backup Camera; and I purchased this BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera Kit as well
    • My only complaints are 1) that the video is "stretched" on the GPS screen (may be a setting I haven't found or just an artifact of screen size and image resolution) 2) the image has an acceptable resolution but is more compressed/grainy that my other reverse cameras. and 3) doesn't have an infrared light for low light/night driving
    • I've seen better cameras but don't know if they work with Garmin GPS
    • I recently purchased a reconditioned Garmin Drive 61 GPS on Amazon, and then I read about the Garmin BC30 wireless backup camera works with it and other Garmin models
    • I don't know if the camera is just low resolution, or the GPS screen is low resolution, or both, but this is no where near as good as the factory backup cameras that I've had in recent years.
    • Clear camera
    • Camera works great
    • the camera is bad
    • Installed the back up camera took a little doing but works awesome
    • Also discovered video output is only 640X480 which indicates a very old video format (pixelated) display and a cheap camera
    • Got this camera because it worked with my GPS display.
    • I purchased the Garmin BC-30 to replace a failed, wired Back Up Camera on our motorhome.
    • Still, the added safety of having a backup camera seems well worth the installed cost
    • The camera is fairly easy to install after a couple hours working on it to hide the wires and splice connections for a clean install
    • Now that it's all finished, the backup camera works like a top
    • It is no substitute for top-O-line factory BU camera, but pretty good add on alternative
    • the BC30 backup camera works on my Garmin Drive 61
    • But the camera works fine
    • I am not sure what other cameras would work with the Garmin GPS units that are compatible with the BC30, I have the RV660LMT, but know that for a lot less there are better quality cameras available
    • Also, works great as a rear-view camera when making passes on the highway towing my RV.
    • Horrible camera mount (made a new much sturdier one)
    • The cheap plastic camera mount broke immediately
    • Easy to fit and adjust, quality of picture not as good as some other cameras but still very usable
    • With a Garmin GPS, their camera is compatible, and we saved about $25,000 (over buying a new car) to have a good backup camera.
    • We paid to have it professionally installed and it worked great at first; but then the camera stopped working after only a month.
    • Just wish it had a better camera
    • Worked good but if the camera gets damaged or you want a spare it is not available without buying camera and transmitter ($100)
    • The convenience of not having more equipment on the dash is good, but in 2016 a camera that poor is 2006 technology and we do expect more out of Garman than last decades technology
    • After a couple of botched attempts at setting up some cheap WiFi backup cameras, and ignoring a YouTube video saying the BC 30 switching was too slow, I bought the BC 30.Setup was much
    • In this day and age of cheap electronics is there any reason to sell a cheap camera that is grainy without night vision, seriously how much more would it cost to put a good camera in the kit $5 or $10?
    • My issue with this Garmin is not the Backup Camera, but the traffic compatibility.
    • Unfortunately camera suffers from interference from other WiFi signals.
    • This might be a good camera but the cables are not long enough to install on a pickup truck
    • June 1 update: After using this for 3 months, the BC-30 camera died on me
    • the camera works
    • The camera works fine.
    • However i have taken off 2 stars because the design of the camera leaves you with few mounting options that don't leave the camera vulnerable to damage.
    • Easy install, great video camera!
    • if you can get at the back up lights, wireless reception is good, all in all a nice camera
    • This camera functions perfectly well with my Garmin GPS (Drive 60).
    • The camera worked fine when installing, produced a picture on the garmin navigator, however once vehicle was moving image became photograph like.
    • If you are trying to depend on the guidelines, forget it as any back up camera are not accurate
    • This camera worked immediately on power up and automatically paired with my Garmin GPS.
    • I wanted to like this backup camera, but my recommendation is simply to not buy it
    • Great camera for a low price.
    • I have a cheap backup camera that also transmits the image wirelessly and it is much, much worse.
    • Love having a back-up camera in my 2006 Accord
    • Just had this wireless camera installed on my Toyota Prius and it works great, even in low light
    • The camera works well, but it could be a bit brighter.
    • It appears to happen more when the signal between the camera transmitter and the Garmin screen is a little blocked... for instance, in my minivan, when the car is packed up with gear and people, the camera starts to lag.
    • I did make it so I can turn it on with a switch, so it can act as a blind spot camera, but my rear views (with some small blind spot mirrors) is good enough
    • After a $120.00 "professional" installation the only way I can return it is to clip the wires at the camera, thereby destroying the camera, and then I'm still out the $120 installation cost
    • Unfortunately, it's the only camera available fir a Garmin GPS.
    • I'm happy to say the camera is up and working just fine
    • Very good backup camera.
    • The forward camera on the dash cam/GPS has much better resolution than the rear camera...or am I missing something?
    • I believe the camera is dangerous
    • Unfortunately, after about a month, the camera fails to transmit its signal wirelessly to the GPS mounted on my dash.
    • but it's not the same as a modern standard-equipment backup camera.
    • Camera is great... the main thing to know is that you have to purchase the correct kit, which includes the camera receiver/charger cable
    • Worst camera ever worst product ever lasted 32 days
    • It certainly made parking my 33ft class C RV much easier than just listening to my family for directions
