I really believe this is the best cycling computer currently on the market.

I have researched this product and products alike; before making this purchase at first, I did not see the need to the blue-tooth option-then I splurged, because this blue tooth option will be handy to upload maps, and share maps-plus there is a Garmin app that allows to upload maps from other cyclists-a community ; also, I love the feature that one can plug in a desired distance to travel; the system will bring up options of preloaded maps, to then re-route the biker back to start.

Awesome feature to incorporate biking in locations that one has never been before.

Even syncing with my PC and Mac has only worked a couple of times.

As this was my first Garmin, for the first few months, I only used it for directional purposes while riding and it worked correctly.

I chose the 1000 for its ability to support the Varia Radar/Light accessory, though I have not bought it yet

The setup of the 1000 was not intuitive, and when I had to do a software update, my bluetooth pairing was

and I needed tech support to get it back again

So while the feature set of the 1000 is very good, there are glitches and very confusing aspects that make it less than stellar.

If it wasn't occasionally glitchy I'd give it five stars...function is top notch though...
