This goes well with an older model Garmin GPS that's still working.

It simply charges my garmin nuvi and no issues so far.

May be the Garmin is Dead.

By the way, this is my third Garmin and with the last one I have, the original charger cable broke at the junction of the attachment and stopped working- poor quality and poor design
