It's ridiculous that Garmin made such an easily-avoided error in designing this product--the Speak might be too small to fit volume up & down buttons, but Garmin could have added a setting for voice prompt levels to the smartphone app
-
A little frustrating at first, but Garmin announced the issue early and had a fix within a week
-
The Garmin is not very satisfactory.
-
I love Garmin and I love Alexa.
-
great".The Garmin uses your phones wifi to work, the Garmin Speak app works with your Bluetooth®-enabled smartphone relying on a suitable cellular data connection; Use your phone’s Bluetooth or an AUX cable to hear audio through your car stereo , which is fine, but if I am going to use my phone anyway, I may as well use my phone's navigation as well which is far superior as it has a map to look at and seems to have better directions
-
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and I am considering making the mighty Garmin Speak a present to loved ones for the Holidays.
-
With all that in mind, I have a good data plan, a newer smart phone, and a car with SYNC services, and for me the Garmin Speak works very well
-
Good Lord Garmin, come on!!
-
Garmin should get an award for producing the worst product of the year with the speak plus!
-
I have had the Garmin Speak with Alexa for a week now and so far so good
-
Garmin really disappointed here
-
Unless Garmin can help me rectify these issues, I will likely return this item, and wait for a new version that solves some of these critical issues
-
garmin missed the target on this too
-
First, as others have mentioned, you have to have the Garmin Speak app on for it to work.
-
The Garmin seems to work great unless the stereo is super loud
-
Garmin is like the bmw of Nav and amazon is amazon
-
This is by far the worst Garmin device I have ever purchased
-
The worse Garmin product I have ever purchased
-
I love Garmin!!
-
On the Garmin side, I've owned numerous Garmin Nuvi devices over the years, and I've been a loyal Garmin 60CSX fan for trail GPS access.
-
Requires 12V power and a compatible iOS / Android device with a data plan and internet connection, the free Garmin App to be running, and be linked to an Amazon account
-
This is by far the biggest disappointment ever and Garmin should be ashamed.
-
I love Garmin, and I love Alexa
-
Garmin uses weasel words regarding it's future availability.("Spotify is not available at this time" or "... services like Spotify are expected to be added as available" whatever that means)
-
If you were looking for a full blown Garmin GPS, you might not be happy
-
This incredibly tiny black barrel provides Alexa, Garmin, and camera all in one and makes bluetooth transmission from your phone to your car stereo (Aux) nice and easy
-
Sorry Garmin.
-
I love engaging Garmin for directions even though at this point they have always been to places I know how to get to
-
Alexa ask Garmin for navigation to work
-
Your phone does all the work through Garmin’s terrible app for this
-
Garmin will tell you if you're exceeding the speed limit, but it seems the speed limit maps are a bit out of date, and unfortunately, Garmin cannot tell you what the speed limit is, nor will it alert you to driving over the speed limit unless you're actively navigating a route.
-
Garmin doesn't advise you that you missed a turn and that its redirecting, garmin also doesn't realize in NJ we have Jughandles and roundabouts
-
Epid fail Garmin.
-
The Speak plays wonderfully through my Bluetooth car stereo and upon boot up (car start), it takes about 20 seconds on my time to receive the “Garmin Ready” notification
-
I’m not sure who should be more ashamed, Garmin or Amazon
-
I have a very good 4G connection on my phone for almost my entire route
-
It's tiny, which I love as it doesn't take up a bunch of room on my windshield.
-
When I saw this product online, it appealed to me as it was a navigation aide and the screen was simple.
-
She didn't seem to work as we had hoped.
-
That does indeed work as I'd hoped--the iPhone/Speak Bluetooth connection so far seems to be rock solid
-
Nothing works as it's supposed to and nothing like Alexa at all
-
Worth about $50 in value, maybe $100 tops if it worked as it should.
-
It's unfortunate as it means I cannot count on it as a navigation device during times when I would need it.
-
The bad - I asked to navigate to an address and said I had to manually input it in the Speak app
