Garmin Speak Plus with Amazon Alexa and Built-in Dash Cam, What You Love About Amazon Alexa— Now in Your car with Dash Camera looping Video and Memory Card, 010-01862-00

    • When I have decent data service, this things works great and performs just how I had hoped it would when it was purchased.
    • I really like this little thing.
    • This thing is very buggy
    • The thing is, every part of the unit works great, when it decides that it wants to work.
    • I absolutely love this thing I have the smart home and this just goes right with it
    • The Alexa is the best thing we discovered.
    • that's when things went bad quickly
    • If things get better, and I am sure they will, I will provide an update, but at this time unless you are ready for self induced road rage and complete strangers staring at you as you yell at Alexa in your vehicle I would not recommend buying this thing.
    • Overall this thing is excellent and if you
    • Once going, it is near impossible short of unplugging the thing to stop the navigation.
    • Very nice tiny thing and easy to hook it up but lacks the full alexa experience we are used to
    • I honestly love the little thing,However, if you just want Alexa and a slightly janky road indicator in your car, there is an older model without the cam for 100 dollars
    • The easiest thing to do then is to stop the car, start the app, then start the car again
    • The thing to remember when you are operating this in conjunction with your smartphone is to keep your phone plugged in to a power source because your battery will drain fairly quickly if you do not.
    • I love LOVE this thing
    • Then other things fell apart
    • But... the most annoying thing about
    • I wish I waited until they got the kinks out, because so far this thing isn't worth the plastic it's made of
    • My husband loves this thing
    • Very nice tiny thing and easy to hook it up but lacks the full alexa experience we are used to
    • The only negative thing I can say about this device is that your smartphone must be receiving a pretty good wireless signal for it to work well
    • because the Garmin Speak has taken over audio playback completely, I cannot resume the music (I have to start it from scratch). The worst part is when this happens, ANY audio from the Garmin Speak again fully stops playback, meaning every Alexa request or even "turn right ahead" forces me to go tT hough my phone and start audio playback all over again (not a safe thing to do while driving)
    • The Speak requires that you have the app open in the background at all times, not an ideal solution but honestly not the worst thing in the world, the Speak itself will notify you if the app is not open
    • The other thing to be aware of is that if you are using an Android phone you will need to have Android Auto running in order for Alexa to play music...all other Alexa functions work without Android Auto, but surely you want to hear your music!Overall, I really like this device
    • Seriously, this thing is awesome
    • Most things work that natural way but it can be frustrating when they don't and you have to think about what you're asking - this is an overall, and somewhat minor, problem with Alexa
    • Yes, I rated it 5 stars because I think it's that big of a deal, of a great thing, but there is always room for improvement in 1.0 devices
    • But wow, this thing rocks.
    • I feel like throwing this thing out the window
    • I absolutely LOVE this thing.
    • What a massive disappointment this thing has been.
    • One last thing: The bad reviews for no spotify support are ticking me off as that is not Garmin's fault, please don't direct your anger towards Garmin for this, but to Spotify support
    • It does all the basic things good, such as what is the forecast, play music.
    • This is the coolest thing since sliced bread.
    • took about 4 minutes, Good thing I was not near a turn, I may have missed my exit.
    • BUT I love this thing
    • Other than those 3 things, which I'm hopeful will be addressed in future updates, this is my new favorite thing.
    • From the description online I knew the Garmin Speak was small, but when I opened the package, wow, what a pleasant surprise, this thing is tiny.
    • The girls really enjoy Alexa and all the things they are used to doing with her in our home (we have an Echo, a Dot, several smartplugs & a Nest)
    • it's just a fancy round thing on your window that doesn't do anything but work as a dash cam.
    • One thing I don’t like is that your phone has to be running the app for it to work, and that is a big drain on the
    • One slight hardware issue: it completely takes over a power port (I was using a two-USB adapter for years to do things like... charge other Garmin devices when on bike trips).I have hope for the future, but for now this might be going back.
    • Just wanted to post that for some of us, this thing worked easy and wonderful, just like you expect Alexa to work
    • I love even the simple things like being able to add items to my shopping list on my way home from work.
    • We have a weakness for gadgets...and are learning about the whole smart home thing,
    • As soon as I unplug the thing and take it off bluetooth, my car phone connection works again
    • I installed the Garmin Speak in my vehicle today and I found some good and bad things about it
    • This thing even looks like a little echo :).Setup was easy
    • n’t give a house number.
    • The bad - I asked to navigate to an address and said I had to manually input it in the Speak app
    • I have a very good 4G connection on my phone for almost my entire route
