GeChic 1303i 13.3" 1080p Touchscreen Portable Monitor with HDMI, VGA, MiniDisplay Inputs

    • Super slim, convenient cabling.
    • Bought another cable, still didn't work
    • Only potential downsides are that the screen has some glare issues, and if you want to use a DisplayPort connection, you need to buy a proprietary cable or figure out some way to convert Micro-HDMI to DisplayPort.
    • While all the connections are a proprietary format into the monitor and special cables are required - the cables themselves aren't terribly expensive
    • I found another cable and it worked fine
    • aside from the proprietary cable the device uses
    • Especially given the difficulty of finding right angled cables with the desired facing
    • Cable issues
    • Four stars for using a non-standard, 'proprietary' HDMI cable (which are ~$20 to replace if out of warranty) with questionable quality
    • I reached out to the manufacturer and they replaced the faulty HDMI cable for free
    • My only negative to this is the proprietary cable
    • Lastly, the HDMI and USB cables can get messy because the cables can be too long if you just need the monitor to sit next to your laptop
    • I have no clue if this is an issue with multiple monitors, Nivida's drivers or my GPU setup, or the monitor itself, but as my last mini display seemed to work perfectly fine until the cable went kaput, I am lead to believe it is the Onlap causing the issue.
    • This doesn't make me feel good about buying another proprietary cable to (possibly) get displayport working in the application that I bought the monitor for.
    • For gift for extremely low-income and very non-tech friend moving to Hawaii where she will have only small solar power (off-grid no expensive public power,) and for internet only her iPhone G4 (can't afford cable or DSL.
