Now, I won't buy this model again because of the fire hazard!

It is definitely a fire hazard

The scary thing is it appears that the unit would have continued to operate - and would show the incorrect temperature while it would have gone right up to perhaps 500 or more degrees, potentially causing a fire hazard

I called the company to explain the fire hazard.
