    • Didn't even get through cooking a steak, and it shut down, also when first started had an awful smell
    • Has a burning smell of machine oils at first, common for some new appliances
    • This one smells like chemicals burning - ammonia or bleach.
    • First time I used it a horrible burning plastic smell filled the kitchen.
    • But it continues to give off a weird smell while cooking
    • The strange smell that a previous reviewer was referring to, is just the "factory smell" burning off, probably something the mfr
    • I still smelled that weird smell when the plates heated up
    • The first time I used it I washed the plates because I could smell it from the packaging, but now a month later I went to cook on it again and still the same awful smell.
