Very High End Wireless Router; speeds are faster than being hard wired!!

It drops signal, only works when devices are hard wired

Great router, but only has 1 hard-wire port.

I've chosen to hard wire many of these, but for a while they were all on the wireless and had no issues

This process is easy for wireless devices, but only a lot of cussing and googling revealed that you have to restart router in order to give a hard wired device a fixed IP.

One would think the wired would always be faster but this is just an example of how "up and down" this router performs.

The IP address range/tree for its base network are hard wired to 192.168.xxx and CANNOT be changed.

I haven't had any issues, it handles all of my devices quite well (25 wireless and 3 wired).

It comes with only one ethernet jack, so you may need a network switch if you have more than one hard wired device

I have the Smart TV wired network through LAN cable which just 2 meter away from the router

I have at least 10 hard-wired devices in my basement, so locating the router elsewhere was inconvenient

Easy to set up except that the documentation did not clearly how explain how to give a hard-wired networked device a fixed IP

I have not tested anything else because all TVs and desktop computers are hard wired

Not quite wire speed nor as fast as the fiber modem's built-in radio, but not bad, so that verified that the test setup was valid.

I almost get the same speed as I would if I am hard wired

I replaced a Netgear Nighthawk that had worked fine for me for two years until one of those fateful firmware updates screwed it up causing endless problems both on wireless and on hard wired ethernet and the response from Netgear was less than enthusiastic in wanting to help me solve the problem (all kinds of reboots, rollbacks, and such that didin't work).

The bad - I've been wanting to assign static IP's to a couple of devices that are hardwired via a switch I have connected, but when looking at the network and trying to find which Mac address is assigned to what device, the current UI refreshes the list every time you look at a device then go back
