Google WiFi system, 3-Pack - Router replacement for whole home coverage (NLS-1304-25)

    • No more spotty coverage or slow devices.
    • There are / will be a LOT of customers that have smart devices in their homes that don't understand why suddenly some of their stuff stops working and will just give up and send your devices back
    • The wifi still works (devices on our local network can see and talk to each other), but the internet goes completely offline
    • Currently, it's handling about 5 wireless devices (phones and tablets) on the 5 GHz WiFi band and about 12 devices (security system, wifi smart devices, cameras, etc.) on the 2.4 GHz band
    • With my regular wifi, I seemed to have many issues connecting the devices and making them work together
    • BUT smart-homers be warned), I do a lot of home automation and not all my devices are 5GHz compatible.
    • I couldn't setup any of the smart devices as "Google Wifi" gives only one SSID and smartly switches between 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz based on the device connecting to it
    • I assume energy draw is low when most devices are inactive and there is not much data use from devices
    • Amazing device, I went from getting 50 megabytes to over 200 for my Wifi everywhere in my house
    • So here I am, over a month after receiving the product and still waiting on a replacement for a faulty device.
    • Most is the keyword here; agree with other reviewers that if you are running an advance home network with NAS, servers, smart home devices you'd better get professional strength equipment
    • All other devices in our house have worked flawlessly.
    • As I was doing backhaul installation vs just mesh, it seemed to have difficulty detecting the devices for some reason.
    • The most expensive, frustrating device I've ever owned.
    • This is a good WiFi device if you don't need to connect to an older printer OR FTP to the internet.
    • Worked fine for most of a year, then two devices started to crap out
    • I also have 16 devices on it at once, no issues.
    • it sends both 2.4 and 5 bands at the same time on the same network and quite a few 2.4 only devices are unable to connect to this type of system.
    • I purchased this to replace my current wifi system, instead it just added to it as now I have to keep my old router connected just for my smart home devices to work
    • Probably the best new device purchased for my home.
    • Bottom line - the device guarantees a STRONG wifi signal either using 2.4G or
    • As to performance, I got a 30% boost in download speeds to my "ac" capable devices
    • So easy to setup and has enough advanced features to support wireless AND wired devices.
    • Recently, I had begun adding a bunch of smart devices around the house (switches, smart lock, Amazon Echo (3), smart plugs, etc...)
    • I have a fast gigagiber signal, and to its credit, it did sustain that throughout all areas of my apartment, but the trade-off of consistently having to re-connect my smart devices over and over again wasn't worth it.
    • Overall, this devices just works
    • Your speed also depends on you pc or mobile devices if they can support N and AC
    • After all three were set up, all the devices worked great
    • Amazing Device !
    • It also has some very nice features and I love being able to monitor down to the device level on our network and even boost a device over others .....like mine over my kids playing Fortnite.
    • I have 17 devices total (multiple smart home devices) and have not noticed a drop in efficiency.
    • Some users complain of difficulties linking to smart devices, but I have a ludicrous amount of IoT devices in my home.
    • I tried so hard to like this device but in the end, I couldn't recommend it to IT professionals that want more control over their network
    • I would also like much more control of what types of content each device
    • None of the smart devices I purchased would connect, and you have to be a magician to figure it out without it connecting automatically.
    • But One bad thing is you cannot connect your wireless devices wirelessly, like with most routers
    • If you have smart devices in your home and various tablets, TV's, and other wifi dependent technology, please stay away from this product.
    • All iOS devices AND MacOS devices are getting like 30Mbps up and down on a modem that pumps
    • Or enable/disable a device remotely--even from another country
    • Google WiFi constantly monitors your devices and the surrounding network to assure that you have the best performance possible, and it automatically sets up a mesh network if you install more than one that keeps your signal strength high throughout your home, it allows for a guest network, and it gives you the status of your network and an itemized list of the devices connected and their usage on your phone.
    • Its very user-friendly device, but I have some problem blocking the device when I want to block some device at home
    • Very fast supporting my 9 devices in the house
    • Unfortunately, you can only prioritize a single device for up to four hours, which only guarantees a connection to WiFi calling for that single device for that set period of time.
    • Very fast supporting my 9 devices in the house
    • Living in a mid-large sized house constantly left my smart devices with a lack of consistent network coverage
    • The device farthest from the modem gets a "fair" signal, but good enough to maintain a good contact.
    • This can be a problem when configuring smart home devices (like smart plugs) which use 2.4Ghz networks but the configuration app on the phone is only aware of the 5hz network
    • To set up these "smart" 2.4 GHz devices you have to walk far enough away with your phone where it will switch to 2.4 GHz and set up the device
    • Its very user-friendly device, but I have some problem blocking the device when I want to block some device at home
    • I have many internet capable devices in my house, 4 Fire TV's, a Nvidia Shield, tablets, cell phones, Kindles, wifi speakers, etc
    • What a completely useless device and let down.
    • Between multiple laptops, smart devices, phones, tablets, etc, there were just too many areas where the coverage from our out of the box wifi from our carrier just didn't pull its weight
    • Now no matter how many guests we have using all the modern tech devices, laptops, Sonos, iPhones, tablets and live streaming tv and videos, we are good to go!!
    • More and more people are buying smart devices that rely on that bandwidth, and this doesn't do much to accommodate that.
    • I've explored some of the other features, like making a device a priority and shutting off wifi to devices on the network, but have not really used them yet as I haven't needed them.
    • So the only issue in the router is the long term consistency otherwise the device is awesome.
    • Took about 10 minutes to set up the primary device (just like any WiFi router it HAS to be plugged into the modem) and the extra 2.
    • Works with all of our smart home devices, including Hue and Nest
    • THIS DEVICE IS CRAXY FAST AND GOOD
    • In my experience, up to 15 devices simutaneously work in best shape
    • I tried so hard to like this device but in the end, I couldn't recommend it to IT professionals that want more control over their network
    • There are more expensive mesh devices out there, however they were cost prohibitive for me.
    • If you have smart devices in your house, some of those smart devices, probably the older ones, may not work correctly behind the NAT OR maybe 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi ONLY.Either problem WILL NOT be apparent that it is due to the Google Wi-FI
    • This is hands down one of the easiest devices I've ever setup
    • My wifi hadn't lagged since I installed it, no restarts or anything needed, great device, and a sleek design too...
    • Of course I thought the Google router could balance the bandwidth among the devices, not permitting one single device to crash the connection of all others
    • 4 months passes using this device perfect to expand the WiFi area
    • It would be nice if prioritizing a device would throttle other devices or reserve extra bandwidth for the priority device as a buffer
    • Netgear devices can be great, but after problems with the 2.4GHz band occasionally dropping on my R7500, and then trouble with the R8000S not staying connected for more than 2 days, requiring a reboot of the router to fix the issue once newer firmware had been applied, I had enough.
    • Note to Google:Please upgrade the app so you can sort devices by connection type, device type (like smart home, mobile, gaming, etc) or device owner.
    • But the tradeoff is that you get a very compact device with this, which I love - and space is a precious commodity in my home so having something compact like this is perfect
    • I'd highly recommend this device
    • It was not only super easy to set up but rather quick to get our smart devices connected to it as well which have all been working with no issues so far.
    • It easily supports our 30+ wireless devices
    • Ultimately, the separate devices won out, given that I could replace or upgrade one or the other over time as needed
    • My Nest and other Google devices worked well on this system, but if you want to use other brands of “smart” home devices, you may be in for a frustrating experience
    • Worked fine for most of a year, then two devices started to crap out
    • when the device was rendered useless, their response to any further remedies was "our refund policy is 15 days from the day you received the device
    • 1 device is enough for my home
    • It was simple, straight forward, and flexible that not do I have whole house coverage now, all my devices actually do work now!
    • We have a lot of devices connecting to our WiFi network, usually at any given time there are 30 + devices but number can go up to 50 sometimes.
    • You would need to have a device in every room and outside connectivity still wouldn't work
    • node.the devices themselves look great, i like the single led design, i have enough blinkenlights, i certainly dont need more.
    • This may be the best electronic device I've ever purchased from Amazon.com
    • BUT they should have clear options for someone who doesnt have a smart device included
    • It doesn't always know what the best device to connect to is
    • The devices are incredibly easy to set up and to customize
    • My existing N300 trendnet router started dropping connections after getting more smart devices connected
    • I love the parental controls you can set and you can set certain devices like your kid’s iPads, phones, etc to ‘pause’ on receiving internet for certain hours of the day or if they are grounded
    • The reason for the one star is that if an issue is open for two years that affects a popular device on more than one popular network, it should be resolved.
    • The device is easy to setup from the instructions and wizard setup.
    • Virtually no connection issues, all my devices always stay connected with no trouble
    • Now this was an issue most people only had to do once because smart devices remember WiFi hotspots and automatically reconnect, but they also hold on as long as they have service and sometimes at they hold on when the WiFi signal is weak and then the Internet would get slow.
    • Last thought: Look into the many devices available via Amazon shopping to get your routers off the floor, off the counter, and that wind up the long cords
    • AC devices should work better when many devices are on the wireless network.
    • This device is good for a regular usage at home such as Internet browsing and video streaming
    • About 35 devices (smart bulbs, ps4, xbox one, phones, tablets, etc) are connected to the wireless network at any given time without issue.
    • I tried hooking my old netgear for smart devices and that router was miserable (besides it’s irritating humming sound) and N300 sometimes used to drop connection
    • I like that I can manage access with the Google WiFi app and connecting additional devices and smart home devices has been easy and simple
    • ROUTER can't be any good more than this thing feels like Ethernet connected to device 100% signal strength of the connection.
    • Really love this device it work and run a lot fast than my last router and it saves a lot of space as well
    • While these are solid devices, I want to be able to access the speed I am paying my ISP for
    • Many smart devices acquire a wireless network based on what network your phone is connected to when setting up devices and since you can't choose which band to connect to manually, oftentimes these smart devices can't find the right network.
    • It handles multiple devices very well and I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
    • After years of trying to get a better wifi experience at home from my xfinity wifi router and dealing with network extenders, access points, multiple wifi networks, and ongoing issues getting wireless devices all working in harmony, I finally decided to give this solution a shot
    • Now with this unit all devices are more powerful and streaming as they should be.
    • For the average home setup that isn't smart device crazy (compatibility with older devices can be an issue), this is one of them
    • The device looks really good
    • The physical devices look decent too and don't have any stupid antennas sticking up, unlike most routers
    • I was having trouble with low signal strength downstairs for my smart TV and other devices
    • Took me 2-5 min to set up the whole mesh system and have all my devices running like champs
    • This will help you later on with family WiFi setup and keeping track of important devices
    • so devices work flawlessly no matter location
    • I like that I can see how much any device on networks consumes, in real time, over a period of time
    • The device is attractive, and I like that I can control the brightness of its glow (or turn it off), unlike my modem, which has several very bright blinking lights
    • The devices have to be too close to work and therefore ineffective for my house.
    • so 1 device is enough
    • The idea of a smart mesh network, helps ensure that your device is always using the best route of connections as opposed to sticking with connections too long
    • My wired connections will have great internet connectivity all the time but my wireless devices at certain times will just stop working until I reset them
    • Really great device that gives excellent speech was hoping for a bit wider coverage though
    • This device fixed that issue.
    • super device, super seller.
    • (whenever you're trying to troubleshoot on network speed issue, this comes in handy)- change password- set priority device(s)- set wifi schedule for certain users (ie kids)- set up guest wifi- home control features- get help or
    • Excellent devices
    • This is a useless device for me and wish I had done the research on this.
    • It means more important devices like your home security system or smart thermostat could be bumped off the Wifi network because of other competing devices in your home
    • I already had the google OnHub and adding these devices was easy, I put one in the garage, master bedroom and another bed room upstairs, no more poor wifi signal strength and the speeds are very nice.
    • Great device, but rather expensive, so you'll need to decide if it's worth it, but after upgrading routers every other year and adding repeaters before, this setup is a lot
    • Simply the best WiFi devices that money can buy, hands down!
    • I highly recommend this little device.
    • , could use a few more features, i.e. security alerts when unknown device connects, built in virus scan/security etc...
    • (You can also use an old router as a switch according to what I have read)Google WiFi includes a feature called Family WiFi which allows you to pause specific devices - great for kids
    • These are the most reliable and versatile devices I've ever used for home use; granted, not for the geek at heart who wants advanced firewall and multiple vlans but for the home user that wants devices that can be meshed with ease to extend range, simple monitoring and some pretty cool family control features they can't be beat.
    • The worst part of this is needing a good place to set each device that is still close enough to an outlet, but there are cradles available to hang each device at the outlet if that might work better for you.
    • But because there's lack of support and this serious flaw, I cannot recommend this device to anyone.
    • Solid devices so far with great range and speed.
    • So, if you have trouble getting your Alexa or other smart home devices connected (my Bose sound touch speaker had similar issues) just make your network name something simple with no special characters like apostrophes or asterisks or whatever
    • I've got over 15 devices in my house an this work perfect
    • This from a company that is pushing there smart home devices.
    • The Google WiFi system automatically sends your device the fastest band available either 2.4 or 5.0 GHz, so when it sends my computer or
    • Device was not compatible with internet provider.
    • Signal is not as strong as an Onhub device
    • I had a device hard-wired into my old router (needed two ports) and now I cannot do that.
    • We do have quite a few devices on our network and no problems yet.
    • Many smart home devices require 2.4 and because of this you are unable to setup many smart devices
    • Perfect for anyone who has multiple devices or any smart home devices that you need to monitor (security system, pet feeder, Nest Cam). Each single "dot" covered about 1,500 square feet with all three covering about 4,00 square feet (about the size of a large home with 3-5 bedrooms)
    • Every other device is great and stays connected to it
    • All my other smart devices automatically connected to the new WiFi since I setup Google WiFi using the same SSID and password as my old ATT WiFi
    • I have a number of smart devices in my home, and despite Google claiming this puts out a combined 2.4 and 5ghz signal at one time, very few of my devices consistently worked with it.
    • Awesome device
    • I did find one device (BloomSky weather station) that does not work with mesh routers like this one, but that's more a flaw in that device than these routers
    • When you couple all those new smart devices with phones, tablets, laptops, TVs, etc... already in the house, I had over 20 devices connected to 1 WiFi Access Point! What ended up
    • I used the same router name and password so all of my smart devices hopped on without any issues
    • and now I have a new Wifi access point while keeping my old one which still works and will primarily drive my smart devices, which don't require too much bandwidth to begin with.
    • I could get the first device up and running, but they would then fail when creating a mesh network
    • Speed is ok, and the devices were working decently for the last 5 months
    • It doesn’t drop signals often, it stays connected to my devices well
    • Probably the best device I have ever installed in my house.
    • It takes minutes to set up, seperate out devices to limit the internet and filter the content
    • I had tried a D-Link range extender which did not work for my house
    • #2I use D-Link Home smart outlets, they offer a scheduling function, example turn lights on at 5 PM and off at 11 PM
    • my old unreliable D-link gets 150Mbps from the primary and about 80Mbps via MOKA based AP.3
    • well I
    • it did not work as i though it would.
    • wifi worked better in a remote areaI cant say there is anything I don't like I about it
    • I'm not sure why this wifi stopped working as I
    • Quality good c
