I was using a good self-provided modem, an AirPort Extreme (as a router) and a second AirPort unit on the network (in bridge mode) to boost the signal upstairs

I plugged the first Google Pod into the Quantum routers top ethernet slot and BAM, the app sensed the Google Pod and asked for me to create a new network name to be used by the Google Wifi mesh system

I tried hooking my old netgear for smart devices and that router was miserable (besides it’s irritating humming sound) and N300 sometimes used to drop connection

Just want blind consumers to know a solid router choice.

Also the fact that you can only access the router setting via Google Wifi app is also quite annoying.

When I opened the box, there were three nice looking routers.

I set this up with a Netgear C6300-100NAS AC1750 router/modem (I use COX) disabling both 2.4 and 5ghz wifi on this device then attaching one google wifi point via an rj-45 (I did not disable router mode on the netgear) to the Netgear router.

I was having Wifi coverage issues using an Apple Time Capsule as my primary router, with some extenders

In conclusion, I strongly recommend buyin this router if your WiFi situation sounds similar to mine.

While an Airport Extreme is an excellent router, it lacks in the area of communicating well with other routers and allowing devices to switch between those routers easily.

That setup worked pretty well but there were dead spots and the primary router has been flaky since a recent power outage sometimes losing it's 'mind'

Currently using the Netgear Nighthawk AC1250 that works great but router sits in the family room and the coverage in the living room 25 ft away falls to a single bar signal Wifi signal strength with 5G. This Google unit is a total waste of time

No matter how I oriented my previously fantastic router I couldn't sort satisfactory coverage inside and outside at the same time (no surpise, it's a lot of space to cover).

devices.for strange reason directly configuring pppoe in google WiFi makes the wan throughput very slow 2-5 mbbs on 100 mbbs internet.but using a cheap netgear router for pppoe and to Google makes it to full 100 mbbs on wifi.

Previous to this I tried to use Powerline connection(was SLOW) and a various routers.

It is pretty expensive, but this router works very well

received and works as expected, no fun to have to reset all devices to a new wifi, but, in the long run it was worth the change as this router is far superior to the one I had which was only a year old.

So far no complaints except the cost is a little high especially when the router from spectrum was free.

I absolutely love the Google WiFi system!I needed to solve a problem where my WiFi router located in the basement wasn’t t giving me strong enough signal throughout the house (1st floor, 2nd floor, and attic), specially if I had the basement door closed

I spent over an hour working with both Google support and AT&T support and each of them blame the other one

n’t miss them at all.
