It has mostly remained true to itself, as far as car physics and car sounds remaining unimproved for the most part(v8 and v12 engines with open exhaust do not sound like vacuum cleaners, polyphony), which means this "simulator" now lags way behind its main competitor, as well as a few other driving simulators

The shutdowns do not seem to be heat or hard drive related because once I can get the game past an area that shuts down the PS3 (which you can do by being persistent and continuing to replay the same race until you finish) then the problem jumps to a different race

The AI drivers do kick up some dirt as they venture off-line and there is a modicum of defensive driving exhibited by the leaders, but they’re still faceless and robotic

The cars are nice looking and all but the races are boring and the extra stuff in the special sections are nearly impossible to do unless you have a good driving wheel.

What I've always enjoyed about the GT series is how it helps develop an appreciation for cool cars and great driving.

Given all of this, and given that the game is still very, very good at doing what is does best (an entertaining driving simulator), I will still give it 4 stars.

I am a better driving in GT6 because it more accurately simulates physics

While you may have to sit through a plethora of downloads, which by the way you need ample storage for (about 10 gigs free, no big deal if you have a 160-500 gb hard drive), the juice is worth the squeeze, good friend

But it stands as the best driving simulator that I have experienced on the PS3, and it is obviously a labor of love on the part of the creators.
