Griffin iTrip Auto Pilot FM Transmitter with App Integration for iPod and iPhone

    • Terrible sound quality, I could not find a frequency that did not have tons of static (nor could I unlock the "Easter Egg" hidden frequency).
    • So in closing, I had to choose between being able to have full control over my ipod and having bad sound quality, or having very little control over the ipod and have excellent sound quality
    • The frequency response is limited, so it will not sound as good as a low quality .mp3.
    • I've been happier with the build quality of this unit as well as the sound quality it provides than I have been with the previous three similar products I've purchased
    • Just beware of the dubious quality control on this product.
    • The sound quality is mediocre at best
    • Bottom line, neat idea but this one in particular is poor quality.
    • I previously had a DLO Transpod with my ancient iPod mini which worked beautifully - fantastic sound quality, virtually no static, etc
    • SmartSound - Supposed to improve sound quality
    • So in closing, I had to choose between being able to have full control over my ipod and having bad sound quality, or having very little control over the ipod and have excellent sound quality
    • Out of the box, I simply used the SmartScan feature to find the best frequency, and set my car radio to that, and the sound quality via the FM transmitter was much better than I had expected -- and much better than with the old Belkin
    • Using the unit at 87.9 seems to give it a boost in signal strength and quality, but the overall sound quality is marginal at best
    • As mentioned above, the sound quality for this unit is very good.
    • Overall the sound quality is clearer than normal radio stations, but not quite as clear as playing a CD in the deck.[Charging / Other Functions]------------------------------The device doesn't have very many functions, but if there is something that does stand out, it is the charging
    • The original iTrip that I got for my iPod had MUCH better sound quality
    • I think I get a much better signal and sound quality than local radio stations in this area.
    • The volume fluctuates erratically and sound quality is not good
    • I have noted a declining quality in recent purchases from this company
    • The Autopilot offers a stronger and more stable signal quality, as well as navigation buttons on the cigarette lighter adapter
    • High pitches tones sound slightly garbled and not as sharp as they should sound
    • I keep this around only for trips across state where the FM band is not clogged as it is in the city.
    • Even when they do work, the signals are very static-y and will go out if you drive under a bridge or are ordering drive through at a fast good restaurant
