Guitar Hero II: Game & Guitar Controller Bundle

    • Much better song list, challenging modes, and cool new guitars, characters, and venues
    • I understand that Hero#1 had more songs up my alley,
    • You have to hit more notes to earn star power and the songs are much faster and complex
    • The songs are also very fun to play, even on Hard and Expert modes, especailly Carry On Wayward Son, Sweet Child O' Mine, Last Child, and Jessica.- Multiplayer mode is superb.
    • When you miss the notes the songs sounds so horrible that it is actually funny.
    • Most songs are quite good instrumentally but the singing can get a bit iffy - but this is rare
    • The only complaint she had was that it was missing one song she loved
    • This game is very playable because as you get better you get more songs to play, and you can customize your own guitar hero more
    • This game contains Nirvana's Heart shaped box song, a favorite song of mine
    • Some of the songs are not our particular favorites, but all in all even the songs we don't like so
    • The soundtrack is simply amazing, way better than the first, with great songs like Surrender by Cheap Trick, Strutter by Kiss, Message in a Bottle by The Police, War Pigs by Black Sabbath, Cant You Hear Me Knockin by The Rolling Stones, Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses, Laid to Rest by Lamb of God,
    • Unfortunately just like the annual DDR games there are some tracks that you'll know and enjoy because you like the song and others you won't really recognize or like and generally won't play
    • Even realizing that my 360 will have a version available (that I will most definitely buy, if only to get the achievement points and downloadable songs), I'm not sorry that I picked this up.
    • we think the songs are awesome and my mom and dad sing along with them!
    • A very fun game, however I thought the first GH had a better song selection
    • The bad:-There are some good songs and a few great ones, but a lot of the songs near the mid-end before the final ones don't seem all that famous or memorable in my opinion.-They finally have Aerosmith, except I never heard of the song "last child"?
    • Has a lot of good songs and even the songs you do not like are still fun to play
    • Co-op mode is the only multiplayer mode in which a song can be failed
    • However, on XBOX, all the songs are available in the Quick Play mode
    • The good:-more challenging XD-if you're stuck on a hard song you can go into "practice mode" and practice sections of the song at a slower speed-introduces new 2-player modes including "pro faceoff" where both players play EXACTLY the same notes, and "cooperative" where each player can select their own difficulty settings (i.e. one plays easy, and the other plays expert)-"Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns n' Roses, "Killing in the name" by Rage against the machine, "Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana
    • -the songs don't progress in difficulty that much
    • they have 7-8 great songs,
    • Great music selection, great difficulty levels, many songs
    • You can start off in the easy level and really get to where you can practice enough to advance onto more complex songs.
    • With the exception of a handful of classic rock songs like Free bird, the music seems limited to 80s & early 90s, and mostly on the 80s side
    • I don't find the songs on this version as much fun as the first version, but I think it has to do with personal music preference.
    • Also the songs by Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, & Alice in Chains among others are possibly the least popular in their back catalog
    • It was a bit too fast, and some songs were a bit lacking
    • They didn't mess around with the game mechanics (expect for making the hammer-ons and pull-offs work perfect), the song were great and the new two player modes like pro face off and co-op are the greatest party games ever
    • like ddr for ur fingers and better songs
    • This was a very hard song for me to pass on the XBOX
    • In practice mode, every part of each song (verses, choruses, solos) is broken down so you can master each song
    • I'm no good and aborts the song
    • You play the colored fret bars along with ever more complex and cool songs.
    • Now, songs are harder to beat than in the last game
    • Most songs are just Lead and
    • So, in order to progress to the next level, you must beat this relatively difficult song
    • There is a funny thing happening here though, a lot of the reviewers are complaining that the songs are obscure and no one knows them, I completely disagree, the list is phenomonal I never expected them to get so many copyrighted songs on here
    • Basically, you play the guitar along with some killer rock and metal songs and try to hit as many notes as possible
    • The songs I don't know are pretty hard
    • Game play changes a little this time around, the techniques required to play are a bit easier to control, however the songs themselves are decidedly more difficult
    • -the songs are more fun to play
    • If you play good, fans will wave lightersMisses- A few terrible songs
    • Love this game, has great features and I love all the songs
    • It seems that Red Octane simply did not want to pay for more popular songs
    • The bad:-There are some good songs and a few great ones, but a lot of the songs near the mid-end before the final ones don't seem all that famous or memorable in my opinion.-They finally have Aerosmith, except I never heard of the song "last child"?
    • You can go to the Practice mode on PS2 and select the song/difficulty level, but it's just not the same to me
    • The gameplay is great, the songs in the game are phenomenal and well known by everyone, and the learning curve is superb.
    • Hits:- Great songs
    • I believe the original Guitar Hero had a stronger song list
    • But tedium is not fun, and playing bad songs is not fun
    • The songs are great, featuring a solid mix of 80's, classic rock, newer bands, and unlockable tracks with less-known artists
    • scenesnow the cons: -the songs aren't as memorable, so you can't just wail out the words the first time or ten you play
    • There are many great replayable songs, but even with the 50+ songs, the first Guitar Hero songs were more of a joy to play
    • Just when you think you've run out of new things you win new songs or new venues to play in
    • In GH1, they made the songs better and louder!!
    • SoundtrackGuitar Hero II features 64 playable songs
    • First, most people agree that the song selection is iffy (I don't believe this, I just feel the songs in the first guitar hero are a little bit more memorable)
    • Not to mention, there are 40 songs to play in career mode and over 15 bonus songs available
    • Easy to learn how to play, difficult songs at times but the more you practice , the easier it gets~. Great toy!!
    • After weeks of struggling with medium mode songs on the first game, I found I'm flying through the easy songs on II with near perfection.
    • also, the songs are fairly easier than they were on GH
    • My favorite songs are (1-3, 1= most favorite, 3= cool favorite) is, 1, "Carry on Wayward Son", 2, "Cherry Pie", and 3
    • GH2's hard seems to throw everything at you right in the first group of songs (which I think is a lot harder than the second group -- Strutter and Heart Shaped Box should probably have been in the first group).I also enjoyed the songs in GH1 a lot more than GH2.
    • and I definitely think the songs are better.
    • this game is awsome if you are a headbanger, punker,or a plain old rock junkie like me but the only problem with the game is that the songs arent as good as GH1 so if you want to by a gituar hero game I recomend GH1!
    • Mother, Never Surrender, and other classic rock songs are included
    • One person plays the guitar track and the other plays the bass (some songs can have a lead and rhythm guitar)
    • The songs are so well done
    • I wish the game had more great songs, but I will just have to buy another guitar hero game, which I'm sure will be worth it.
    • Besides the great songs, the video of the band, arenas/clubs, costumes, etc. rekindle my youthful spirit, taking me back to a more carefree past (well, at least in my head!)
    • Also the purchasable songs are as blah as it was in the first game, with the exception of Strogbad's "Trogdor the burninator" with enhanced guitar solo
    • this game has a lot more metal songs than the other versions, which is kind of annoying but the other songs are sweet
    • Each song is split up into about 10 different 20 second bits and labeled appropriately
    • The two player mode with the individual difficulty settings allows you to play with your newbie friends without dumbing the game down for yourself, and how it lets you slow down certain parts of the song so you can master them does away with the frustration caused in the first game from failing the same song repeatedly over and over at the 75% mark and not being able to go further
    • But the songs were great and very playable
    • GUITAR HERO II is awesome, but they made a lot of the hidden songs impossible to do
    • You have your slow songs and ballads of course, but expect a challenge with those as well
    • I wish they tried for popular songs rather than popular artists, but there are more than enough great songs in this game
    • personally i like the song choice in guitar hero 2 better than the other versions, but i'm such a fan of guitar hero in general that my opinion is way biased in the positive direction
    • Some of the songs are kinda wierd but the other songs are great
    • But overall, the song selection: excellent
    • Easy to learn how to play, difficult songs at times but the more you practice , the easier it gets~. Great toy!!
    • The difficulty on the medium difficulty songs in Guitar Hero II are harder than the medium difficulty songs on the original Guitar Hero, but the hardest songs on Guitar Hero II are easier than the difficulty on the original Guitar Hero
    • A great mix of popular radio stuff and quirky songs you may not often hear.
    • - The Rolling Stones"Sweet Child O' Mine" - Guns N' Roses5
    • "Sweet Child O' Mine" - Guns N' Roses (Encore)5
