My son initially bought the Wii and Guitar Hero for his room but the whole family enjoyed it so much that we purchased a 2nd Wii and guitar for our family TV.

The game is fun and the music is great because the songs are not covers but the original versions you already know

I like the inclusion of Queens of the Stone Age, but good music is few and far between on this game.

There are times that while I am playing, the music will get kind of glitch and fall off of the notes, but normally this will only happen at the beginning of a song, and when I restart it, it doesn't happen again

The Guitar: Works the same as you would expect a wired controller to, I tried a wireless for the PS2 and was disappointed in the number of button presses it misses, this does not happen with the Wii guitar

We had not even thought about this game until I saw it on sale got it for my son's eight grade graduation present, both my son and my husband are now addicted, it was funny because we went on vacation and a kid got on the plane with his guitar sticking out of his carry-on luggage, must be a guy this cause I dont like it

I knew all the songs and was very pleased with the selections, although I quickly found out my son's greater skill at video games gave him the upper hand

The only complaint I have so far is that the last song on the Hard Level is damn near impossible.

The game's difficulty curve is also one step forward and one step back--having played both Guitar Hero II and III, I can safely say that the transition from Medium to Hard difficulties will be a lot smoother for most people, as Medium now introduces Hammer-on sequences early and often; this will be beneficial to casual players who want to alternate between Medium and Hard most of the time when they play, as the only major obstacle they will have to overcome is learning the fifth fret button

Basically in the battles the screen is split in two with each player having a side and instead of getting Star power, which is a power up in the one player mode, you get attacks like upping the difficulty for example from easy to medium which adds a string/buttom, or flipping the oppents color buttoms/strings on screen upside down, or making the notes flash making them easy to miss, another you have to shake your Whammy bar, and broken string where you must puss the string bottom repeatedly to repair the string

However, Hard and Expert difficulties suffer from severe balancing issues--song difficulty remains fairly lenient until it hits a brick wall 80% into the game
