This is a great little espresso maker.

The espresso was wonderfully smooth and creamy with a beautifully thick froth

At first I felt the espresso was a little too weak, but upon reading other reviews found leaving it on for a few minutes before brewing really helped

Its easy to use and makes decent espressos

If you enjoy true espresso this is NOT your machine

The Hamilton Beach 40792 has some commendable features on top of making a decent espresso

The espresso is great, however it doesn't foam

The espresso tastes delicious, rich and foamy and the machine is easy to use and clean

I was looking for a home machine in the $100 range and tried this because of so many glowing reviews about its great espresso and ease of use

Making espresso is not that difficult; frothing is a bit more artsy and takes a while to master.

We first owned a cheap espresso maker that I had a Groupon for

This machine makes great espresso, but do not use a tamper to press down the coffee or it will not flow properly.

For the first week it wasn't making super hot espresso shots and did some messing around with it that I just needed to wait longer to preheat.

So until Hamilton Beach fixes this issue with the espresso filter holder, I strongly recommend you pass on this otherwise outstanding espresso maker

This is a great espresso maker

It only takes a few seconds for the water to heat, then turn the switch to brew, and you get a perfectly balanced shot of delicious espresso

This machine makes decent espresso but has required a lot of experimentation with timing during the last two months

The reason for change is that I purchased "espresso" ground coffee, and observed the fill to about the same place for each serving.

I've been using a modest Mr. Coffee espresso maker that my son Steve gave me years ago and expected the Hamilton Beach unit to deliver similarly satisfying coffee drinks

The first two were difficult to use, harder to clean (hard enough that I stopped using them unless company was coming over who wanted espresso/cappuccino) and expensive to fill.

Sadly this was and I do mean WAS a pretty good little espresso maker
