• Reviews around air (1.69 of 5)

    Hohner Piedmont Blues Harmonica Set

    • I've left the case open to air out for 3 months now and it still stinks.
    • They take too much air to play, lose notes, and sound cheap
    • As stated in other reviews expect one or more not to work (too much escaping air)
    • Some reviewers said that the plastic construction is what causes the leaky air flow, but I tested that theory by putting tape over the seam between the plastic and the reed chamber, and the results were no better
    • Also, they have a little weird plastic smell to them, though I think airing them out might solve the issue
    • Too many air leaks
    • Terrible sound, leaks air everywhere, weighs about half as much as the nearly as cheap $8.00 Chinese made Blues Band or the Old Standby
    • The idea is that when you blow or draw through the holes the air causes the reeds to vibrate
    • they leak air, and some don't even work.
    • They're completely made of plastic, the holes are small, the high notes require more air to get any sound out of them, and overall sounds bland
    • The air is as loud as the note being played
    • I found the dead spots and leaking air issues so many others posted about
    • Three out of Seven worked, but the other Three had several bad reads Which I could possibly fix if I were to take them apart, however they leak so much air anyway, I found no practical use in doing that
    • I tried leaving them out in the fresh air and sunshine, which did not get rid of the smell, so I washed them in soap and water, which also did not work.
    • Air leaks out everywhere, reeds don't all work in both
    • I would also recommend this to someone who wants a pretty good case but is on a budget, also great for kids, but I would be a little concerned about them inhaling the possibly harmful and nasty tasting air this gives off
    • Air leaks out everywhere, reeds don't all work in both
    • Not as good as my marine but definitely usable
    • They make lovely gifts for me to give,a gift that keeps on giving, as well as they are a great entry level harmonica with seven different keys to choose from
    • Some of them will correct themselves as you play them more, but overall, do not waste your money on buying these if you intend to play them
