This differences in this new M254dw are:-It is about an inch taller-It can hold 100 more sheets of paper in the input tray (250 vs 150).-It uses a slightly higher capacity toner (202A vs 201A).Otherwise, it seems to be exactly the same printer as the older model:-Print quality is very good
