There is a setting under System, Supply Settings for Cartridge Policy and Cartridge Protection

It may be that if you turn “cartridges protection “ON” you cannot reset it to “OFF” and then you will be stuck buying genuine HP toner cartridges at twice the price of the generic ones

If Cartridge Protection should be set to ON - It will reject any Cartridge that is not a “genuine HP

“IT managed” is that future firmware updates (no longer under my control) could change the cartridge Protection locking it to HP Only Cartridges

I can now print from ipad and iphone as well as via email from anywhere

I bought an used in "Very Good Condition" but was actually a brand new never opened printer for a very good price so that made it a Five Star, other wise I would have given it a 3 Star because of not the printer's fault but the buggy software install and poor instructions of the full manual on doing manual Duplex printing and no Tech Support contact information
