    • However, it began showing an alert “Printer Failure” with a message that in no way helps to repair the problem
    • Constantly gives you error messages: paper jams when it's not jammed, printer failure, turned it off incorrectly (with the power button?!) even after installing genuine HP printer cartridges.
    • At that point it failed with the same sequence of events others have described: a paper-jam message which was thoroughly checked, then a "printer failure" with error code (0x6100004a) and instructions to turn it off and back on, then failing to shut down when turned off (spinning circle for about 20 minutes), then pulling the plug, then turning it back on and getting a warning to shut it off with the power switch instead of pulling the plug
    • Finally, after this last printer failure, I am moving on to a new printer
    • Finally got the "printer failure" resolved for about two weeks and now back to the same "printer failure".
    • I too have gotten the fake paper jam error, it wouldn't print in color, and now for the last several months the PRINTER FAILURE #0x610004a error
    • When the printer was working, it met all basic expectation, however in a single year I had to have two replacements!!!Also, there were an additional two times I contact HP Support where I had to completely re-download the software because of an inexplicable printer failure
    • The driver caused my wireless HP Officejet Pro x451dw to fail and since I gave up and handed it to her (some rotten husband I), she is wild with frustration (and she was a LAN manager for a large firm, very skilled) but the scanner driver has stepped on her Scanjet

    • I also recommend the HP InstantInk service as it makes it easy to keep yourself in good supply and it is cheaper overall than buying at the office products store.
    • The print came out discolored and faint as if It was out of ink even though all ink was fresh.
    • This printer serves a purpose but it isn'the nearly as good as my last HP printer
