In the future I will look at other copiers that will not tie me down with making it so hard to print with more reasonable refill cartridges

If your old HP printer breaks, and you have some genuine, unexpired, unused, unopened cartridges you are out of luck if you purchase your printer from anywhere except for HP.com.

black cartridge was defective...took two weeks to get HP to replace it...

The the EXPENSIVE Hp cartridges run out like crazy...creating our need to buy more and be harassed by hp to buy more

There is absolutely no justification in not being able to print when a color cartridge is empty, besides, we only used color a few times for kids school work, but it quickly drained the cartridges.

You must have four usable cartridges even if you only want to print in black and white.

I went to the store to get the appropriate cartridge (Cyan) and installed it.

The cartridges for this printer are very expensive.

DR: the 1st economically priced printer with average features for printing in B&W (less in color) that grants its cartridges sick leave and makes significant withdrawals from your pocketbook at regularly spaced intervals to pay for it.

They solution is to check for correct ink cartridges.

After that you will have to buy the very expensive HP cartridges

I spent $100 on useless ink cartridges.

It cant print in black and white even with a fresh black cartridge unless you buy fresh color cartridges too

HP952 gets an incompatible cartridge error on my device.

After two or three refills, (rotating cartridges as well) the printer won’t let you print even if it’s full of ink.

HP pushed an automatic firmware update to this printer earlier this fall which disabled all non-Hp ink cartridges

That cartridge will deplete much more quickly then the other two, but all three will need to be replaced because of HP's forced-waste unnecessary replacement policy.

The fact they didn't tell people means printer owners, such as myself, bought several sets of printer ink trying to find one that would work (since the error said "cartridge is damaged," not "now you have to buy our own expensive cartridge.")

Soooo, instead of giving them more money for their creepy big brother cartridges, I will be donating this printer to somewhere for less money, I am going to buy a new NOT HP Printer today

I loved the ease with which it printed, the ease of changing the cartridges, and ease of scanning things into my computer for records and documentation.

Ran out of ink, installed new cartridges, and got the same incompatible cartridge message

They even specifically state that you CAN use cheaper cartridges and it doesn't void your warranty because it doesn't cover anything to do with ink components

This means you must keep your office stocked with expensive "backup" cartridges at all times

They force you to purchase these expensive color cartridges by shutting you out, pay or no print, almost like those terrorist hackers who hold computers hostage, "pay or you can't use your data"!

So I have no way of getting the correct ink cartridges to work and no support

And finally, when you change the crazy-expensive ink cartridges watch out

Do not buy this printer unless you want to pay for overpriced HP cartridges from now until eternity.

I only used genuine HP cartridges.)

My only gripe is that the cartridges are so incredibly expensive.

I had one issue that I want to share with future buyers: after setup, and after the first non-test-page print job, a window popped up on my monitor to the effect that genuine HP cartridges were not installed.

HP deliberately updates the firmware on its printers so they will stop working with 3rd party compatible ink cartridges

Works fine - setup cartridge 954 lasted a good long while.

When I have to change paper size, it can't just "do" that, you have to mess around with your printer settings in the computer as well as on the equipment.

Very disappointing..printer delivered today won’t work as it gives an ink cartridge error on blue/cyan color

Even though I have had it for just about 24 hours, I would have to give it five stars for the simplicity of its installation, as well as for the ease and quality of printing

(There are three separate color cartridges, and they are even sold separately as well as in a combination package, but the implication was that all the color cartridges had to be replaced.
