It wastes ink, paper, and my time when I have to go back to the document and print the specific page that misprinted.

This printer is packed away until the come up with a compatible ink.

Out of the box I had problems with the printer showing proper ink levels, or ink levels at all

besides the fact that it loses connection all the time (need to shut off and turn back on again), we now just discovered - of course passed the Product Support date of 6/20 (today is July 3rd) - that when attempting to print greeting cards, there's streaking every inch or so on the picture whether color or B & W. We tried all the fixes of alignment, cleaning printing head, it has adequate ink levels and nothing is working.

Being informed I would have to purchase grossly overpriced ink

You may assume that your instant Ink page count will begin when you insert the cartridges from the "Instant Ink Welcome Kit".

There are no cheap ink alternatives like there are for most other printers.
