The con is mostly at night when there is a terribly loud beep indicating loss of signal, then it continues to scan as normal, pretending like nothing happened

So, if you want to be woken at all hours of the night by obnoxious beeping this is the monitor for you.

Recently that cheaper monitor stopped staying paired with the camera, which was not only annoying but also resulted in a very loud, repetitive beep in the middle of the night

The monitor has a very annoying beep when the battery gets low

I loved this monitor at first and started using it with my second baby, but recently it says “out of range” ALL THE TIME and emits this super loud beeping noise

If I unplug it, the thing immediately starts beeping like mad

We can't keep any other electronics on the bedside table with the monitor, otherwise it WILL lose signal and beep, every time

There aren’t any annoying and unnecessary beeping noises when changing settings, you can actually see clearly in night vision, and the camera rotates and moves (which I didn’t have before)

I have had this camera since my son was born in October 2018 and agree with prior reviews that it makes the most awful beeping noise when it is out of range...despite our house not being large

The beeps themselves are somehow more pleasant as well and not quite as jarring

And if the signal is low and the devices stop pairing, it alerts you with a beep at the same volume that the monitor is set at...so no more high pitched obnoxious beeping in the middle of the night for me!

It sits next to me in bed and will be fine for hours and then just start beeping randomly because it has lost its signal and this happens ALL the time

When it works, it works great.. but far too often does it lose signal and beep at us

No signal, temperature reading goes in and out (both cameras) and the loud beeps every time it goes out

The camera is literally 15 feet from the monitor and I constantly get an out of range, obnoxiously loud, infuriating beep

The annoying beeping sound when it's low battery or when it loses connectivity is horrible

That beep is infuriating

Unless you want to be woken up by random loud beeping noises, don't purchase this

The DXR-8 allows you to disable those beeps altogether, or set them to either a low or high volume level, which is much more palatable

We can sit ONE room away from our nursery and get the infuriating beep and warning that the signal is lost, out of nowhere.

We opted for a whole new system, instead of just an additional camera, because of some of the new features in the system (like turning off the alert beeps)

As others have said already too, the monitor makes a random loud beeping noise and says "out of signal range" when it's been in the same place on the sofa this whole time
