    Intel Core i7-7820X Processor

    • With a 5 Ghz overclock, this CPU would beat the Threadripper 1950X in all-core performance in addition to having WAY better single-core performance
    • It's 8 cores requires a BIOS to support its most efficient use of four memory access channels, vs the two memory access channels of 6 and lesser core CPUs
    • I am happy I made the move, and I let's face it, 16 cores is a better sounding number than 18.. heh!
    • I use Keyshot 6 rendering - which is CPU intensive - and, the 7900x handles the ability to render and record with no glitches; I clean up with Adobe Elements which is running 10x's better*Core Temps under normal conditions (with a Corsair H110i cooler)
    • but its the fastest 4 cores in the set
    • I decided on this model chip bc the Turbo 3.0 frequency is the same as the 7820x, the 10 core was appealing in itself but also the 44 PCI express lanes
    • But, the additional cores and more memory capacity of the X299 platform will be helpful for running more VMs which is why I bought it.
    • 4.8GHz, Stable all cores
